Try not equating voters with Congressmen in the Republican or Democratic parties. It demonstrates that you're gullible enough to think that the GOP has your best interests at heart. That's a lesson I learned from the Dems...when I was 12 years old.
Are you asserting that Dems had faulty reasons for hating Bush? A guy who sat around with his thumb up his ass while Manhatten and New Orleans were destroyed? Yeh, us lefties are SO irrational.
True, the Dems did block a few wackos, but they let Alito and Roberts on the high court without a whimper. The hill they were willing to die on was pretty freaking steep. The GOP on the other hand has blocked just about everything. Obama had to make recess appointments just to get his cabinet filled.
But you're damn right on anything with the label "bipartisan". Lewis Black once said in a bit on this:
"And the only thing worse than a Republican or a Democrat is when these two pricks work together. What happens is a Republican stands up and shouts, 'I've got a really shitty idea!' And Democrat stands up and shouts, 'And I can make it shittier!'"
What's wrong with the GOP refusing to work with the Dems to enact bad legislation? Or for the Dems to refuse to enact bad legislation proposed by the Reps when the shoe is on the other foot?
If bi-partisanship is so bad, which I happen to agree with, than why shouldn't you be happy that the two sides can't agree on anything except that they portend to hate each other while feeding at the same trough?
It is so funny that you use this to show the obstinate nature of the GOP. I recognize at least one line - "We despise you with the raging intensity of a thousand white hot suns - as almost the exact phrase used in an opinion piece published some years ago in the Los Angeles TImes about Bush.
I guess at that time it was okay for the Dems to hate the president with that intensity, but now it is so bad.
(If my sometimes fauty brain is functioning correctly, I think it is from Taming of the Shrew, but with love, not hate.)
Also, two years ago, many people on this board were gloating over the "demise of the GOP." Gosh, the gloat has turned to crow. Suddenly such a feeling is terribly bipartisan.
Tell the truth Willie: How many times did you protest against such language when the shoe was on the other foot?

Full transcript of his meeting with the GOP below.
You posted a cartoon. FYI, that wasn't real quote from a real congressman.
The point of the cartoon is how can you deal with people who have such a loathing.
Whether there was reason or not to hate Bush is irrelevant. He was still the president and that type of feeling may have been a good venting, but it would not lead to any productive cooperation.
But your hatred was justified.
I love the fact that Bush is blamed for Manhatten being destroyed. (I assume you are talking abut 9-11.) HINT. When the planes hit, there wasn't much he could do. After, federal aid poured in so damn fast it made your head spin.
And New Orleans - I just love it. The corrupt Dems that controlled N.O. pissed away tens of millions of dollars that had been given and offered to that city for decades to strengthen the levies. A generation of corrupt public officials, all members on one party, allowed it to deteriorate. And then a force five hurricaine hits and it's Bush's fault.
