I don't get that at all, & I've heard a few others say that to....Richard Clarke's testimony to 9/11 Commission basically said Bush wasn't overly concerned about terrorism in months prior to 9/11....Then six months after 9/11, Bush says in March 2002 that he doesn't think or worry about OBL....Look, I'm not even saying (and I hate George Bush) that Bush is directly to blame for not getting OBL......But I can't see how people actually think they're safer & GW is this great protector given his non-chalant attitude on terror in the past??....Makes no sense.....

The only way Bush wins (other than stealing election) is successfully applying the politics of spin with the assistance of the R.N.C. of course......Some how, some way, you're supposed to believe that Bush is our great protector & only he can win the war on terror.....Bullshit...

The bare fact is the the longer Osama Bin Laden lives without any apparent concern for his health the bolder those who want to hurt us become in their planning.  I have read some say that if some events happen that a nuclear device could end up being set off in the middle of a large city.  The longer Bin Laden remains free, the more likely it is that maybe not he, but people that take inspiration from him and his survival will set off such a device in one of our large cities.  Taking the inspiration away from his supporters will also strip them of their boldness, this can only be good for us in the short, medium and long term.
When I saw the tape of Bin Laden yesterday, I contrasted his appearance to what he looked like after escaping from Tora Bora.  There was a world of difference.  The Bin Laden of yesterday looked like a hale man addressing a Rotary Club meeting.  The Bin Laden of Tora Bora looked like a man that had seen his mortality flash before his very eyes.  The one big irritation that I have is that we did not seal him in at Tora Bora and kill him and all of his immediate followers there.

"I wonder about you. Although we are ushering the fourth year after 9/11, Bush is still exercising confusion and misleading you and not telling you the true reason. Therefore, the motivations are still there for what happened to be repeated....

"We found no difficulties in dealing with the Bush administration, because of the similarities of that administration and the regimes in our countries, half of which are run by the military and half of which are run by monarchs. And our experience is vast with them.

"...The resemblance started when [former President George H.W.] Bush, the father, visited the area...

"Then, what happened was that he was impressed by the monarchies and the military regimes, and he was jealous of them staying in power for tens of years, embezzling the public money without any accountability. And he moved the tyranny and suppression of freedom to his own country, and they called it the Patriot Act, under the disguise of fighting terrorism. And Bush, the father, found it good to install his children as governors and leaders.

"...we never knew that the commander-in-chief of the American armed forces would leave 50,000 of his people in the two towers to face those events by themselves when they were in the most urgent need of their leader.

"He was more interested in listening to the child's story about the goat rather than worry about what was happening to the towers. So, we had three times the time necessary to accomplish the events."

End Excerpts.

I have written on this politics board that the terrorist had seen that Bush couldn't tear himself away from that classroom.  I have also said that, before the attacks, Bin Laden was acquainted with W, he knew what kind of man he was up against.  After fighting in Afghanistan for 10 years, Bin Laden doesn't fear a guy who opted for the National Guard.

He certainly knows the Bush family and their ambitions.

It does take from Kerry's hands the last weapon I thought he was going to use: Bush's 7 minute freeze at the the school, followed by his choosing to take a 20 minute photo-op. I always thought the final ad that should have ran would have been showing the look in Bush's eye and the tremor in his hand as he gingerly reaches for the children's book.

Unfortunately, now Kerry can't use that.  I thought it was the most defining moment in this woefully failed presidency.

I said before I thought Bin Laden would prefer an opponent like Bush.  He did say that his organization was better ready to exploit Bush's weaknesses.

Unfortunately, I think the comparison to a corrupt monarchy is too apt to ignore, from any source.
