But Biden didn't use tariffs. He used incentives, for which Trump is now taking credit. Quoting from a "The Guardian" article . . .
-
"The US commerce department under then president Joe Biden finalized a $6.6bn government subsidy in November for TSMC’s US unit for semiconductor production in Arizona.
-
Biden signed the Chips and Science Act legislation in 2022 to provide $52.7bn in subsidies for American semiconductor production and research to boost domestic production and make the United States less reliant on semiconductors made in Asia.

“When Warren Buffet talks, people listen.”

SMART people listen.  Stupid righties don’t listen to Buffett.  They listen to anonymous rando fucktards on X.

The Republican-controlled House passed a budget resolution on February 25 authorizing $4.5 trillion in tax cuts [lost revenue] through 2034, which would benefit mostly the wealthy.

Why? Because he gets it wrong. Go back and watch a few of the old EF Hutton commercials. They use slightly different tag lines and are not always the same.
This one, for example, uses EXACTLY the words BigP paraphrased.
So once again, The SPOAT proves himself a stupid, annoying dummy and troll. He should NEVER accuse anyone else of trolling. Especially since I had to bust his ass for trolling me on the GD Board.

I would have said “to emulate the old commercial”. Calling that a paraphrase is a stretch.

Oh, I forgot, The SPOAT doesn't know what that means.
But thanks for demonstrating you can't read, can't think and can't do anything but stalk.
Oh, right. And require the Last Word.
So take it, pinhead.

trade deficits with most of our trading partners, which has the effect of weakening the dollar against other currencies?

When the trade deficits decline, that's when you adjust the tariffs.

And using "Emulate" is also wrong.
em·u·late
/ˈemyəˌlāt/
verb
match or surpass (a person or achievement), typically by imitation.
"lesser men trying to emulate his greatness"
BigP wasn't trying to "emulate" the EF Hutton ad. What he did was EXACTLY paraphrasing it, according to Merriam-Webster.
But I guess ChicKie is the real authority here.
LOL.

We get back to the fact that Buffet thinks the tariffs are a bad idea? I bet EF Hutton would agree.

Mimic is the word he should have used, not paraphrase.
To paraphrase EF Hutton’s “talks, people listen” would have been to say EF Hutton’s advice is highly regarded by investors.

To say "highly regarded by investors" would be to EXPLAIN what the phrase means. Paraphrasing it requires -- even according to your own belated re-write -- to "mimic' it. Which is exactly what BigP did and your attempt at paraphrasing does NOT do.
