I liked the movie but gotta admit that guy's work (e.g. the penal colony) is twisted.

For you many conspiracy buffs out there, some highly recommended books & a movie which deal with the world's "shawdowy & malignant organizations"

To me, the author that embodies conspiracy theories is the celebrated Thomas Pynchon, in such works as "The Crying of Lot 49" ( set in 60's L.A & dealing with an evil underground mail delivery service known as "The Tristero" ) but, particulary, in his stream of consciousness WW2 masterpiece, "Gravity's Rainbow", set in London during the blitz when that city was being hit by German V2 rockets. Been long time since I read it, but I think that Pynchon posited that WW2 started by German industrialist/pharmaceutical firms. A masterpice & if you read it, you will never forget the "Schwartzgerat" ( you Krauts can correct me if I spelled it wrong. )

As for movies, we go to the maven of conspiracy theory movies, John Frankenheimer, who directed such conspiracy theory classics as "Manchurian Candidate" & "7 Days in May". An overlooked gem in his conspiracy oeurve is the 1966 film "Seconds". I won't spoil the plot;let's just say it's an updating of "Faust", with one of cinema's greatest evil organizations. It features an excellent acting job by Rock Hudson, probably his second greatest;( his first greatest
was his deceptive "lifetime performance" as a heterosexual-------:(         )

Great stuff for the conspiracy buffs !

...as it's not meant to be entertainment, but nothing spells out crazy like the book "Behold A Pale Horse" by Milton William Cooper.

In 70's L.A., was friends with a guy who was a member of the John Birch society ( & to confound the cliches, he was an African-American ); he would go on about the dreaded enemies of the far right, which we STILL hear about today :"the illumniati", David Rockefeller, Henry Kissinger, the CFR, The trilateral commission, etc, etc. So when Mein goes on about this stuff, I experience a sense of deja vu.

Speaking of books on this topic, below is a link
to the late author of the Grandaddy of all conspiracy books ; I think you'll be surprised to find out who his son is :
