Liberals here claiming that conservatives WANT the economy to tank for electoral benefit, yet it’s Democrat spending policies driving inflation.

Absolutely correct. Pandemic related inflation is a "supply and demand" issue world-wide. However, it has been exacerbated by corporate greed. There are limits on what any government leader can do to fix this toxic mix.

It's part of their business model.  It was a big issue during the Great Recession that started under Bush in 2007-2008.  Should we bail out industries that prioritize profits & corporate bonuses over the rest of us?  They do it whenever the Cons cut taxes.  Instead of investing it back into the business & employees, they buy back stock & pay off the company execs.  This is the "trickle down your leg" economic CONcept that the Cons live & breathe for, but proven time & time again it never works.

What would you rather go through? One hand a recession or on the other hand inflation..

It was Covid. And you KNOW that.  
With that said, this is horrific news for Dems chances in November. The predictions on when inflation would dissipate have been way off. While it might be a tad better by November, I wouldn't bet on it being better to the degree it would need to be for Americans to really notice. Inflation is going be with us for months, years maybe. With that in mind, Democrats better go back to the legislative table and get a few things done and Joe needs to whip out the XO pen.

The rich can make it through both times of inflation or recession.  The rest are going to struggle.
