Hillary got more votes . . . .

UK had their election today for members of Parliament (MP's).  The Conservatives (Tory Party) increased their number of seats and gave the Libs (Labour Party) a beat-down.  The Libs now have their lowest number of seats since 1935.    Libs in the UK were predicting a big win and majority control.  The results show 368 Seats for the Conservatives and 191 Seats for the Libs.   Could this be a glimpse of what's in store for the Dems in the US in 2020?

I knew when I saw the results you or Wu would start making bogus parallels like this and almost posted a prediction. And you've proved me right. But the only comparison is both countries are run by bloated blowhards. And the Brit results only proved that country was tired of limbo and wanted it to be over. Whereas in this country most people are tired of things being run by an ignorant, divisive, know-nothing.  So the situation over there bears NO comparison to the one here. The fact that you don't get this simply shows what an ignoramus you are.

on our respective analysis of today's UK results, this will be a good exchange to trot out in November 2020 and see which one of us has egg on our face.   Even if you are right in your analysis, apparently, the voters are embracing bloated blowhards in both countries, and I think you will find the American voters are tired of Dem obstruction and phony investigations to try to undo the 2016 election.  The do-over for Dems comes in 2020 just like it did today for Corbyn and the Libs in the UK.   The people will speak through their votes.  They don't need Dems playing big brother.  Its a relevant comparison if you look at it with an open-mind.  (But what are the chances of THAT happening.  Lol)

And I'll simply point out I haven't made ANY. We'll have to see how the impeachment issue plays with voters but it's worth noting that just over 50% of voters think Trump SHOULD be impeached and removed. Also note there's NO comparison between Corbyn and Biden. The former is deeply unpopular and totally lacking in any charisma, and his party has been justly accused of institutionalized anti-Semitism. Biden, while goofy, is genial and connects with people, unlike Corbyn. I don't mention any of the others because I don't think they'll win, even though they ALL are polling more strongly than Trump.

Over three years ago the British people, much to everyone's surprise, voted for BREXIT, but for the last three years the liberals in Britain have been trying to undo that vote. FINALLY, it looks like it is going to happen.

Over three years ago the American people, much to everyone's surprise, voted for Trump, but for the last three years the liberals here have been trying to undo that vote. Perhaps, we will follow the Brits lead and FINALLY quit trying to undo the 2016 election, just in time for the 2020 election?

The biggest parallel is the libs inability in both countries to accept the will of the voters.

The Brits had SEVERE second thoughts about their Brexit vote. The problem is, they also were given a VERY unpalatable alternative in Corbyn and Labour.  Both parties SERIALLY failed to figure out a path. May had to resign. Boris then failed miserably, requiring a new election.
So with all that in the background, it's hardly surprising the Brits threw up their hands and voted for the least unpalatable choice. All they want to do at this point is move on. So this has ZERO to do with the so-called "will of the voters" in the original Brexit vote. And thus it also has ZERO to do with the US 2020 election. Unless you mean people here are weary of Trump's continual infantile drama.
But keep on chugging your Kool Aid.

The Brits did NOT have severe second thoughts, they had a bunch of whiny losers that wouldn't accept the vote of the majority.

Yeah, Boris failed so miserably that he won in a landslide, but the libs there, just like the libs here, don't care what happens in a fair election.

At least the Brits have finally taken control over their own destiny and have decided to MBGA, I am sure they can't wait to sign a great trade deal with us once they are free from the shackles put on them from Brussels.

The thing that puzzles me the most is what were the Brits thinking when they elected Theresa May to lead them through the BREXIT process when everyone knew she was a "remainer" I honestly don't know if she was the worst, or the second worst female leader on the planet. As bad as she was at least the Brits came to their senses before she fucked up Britain as badly as Merkel fucked up Germany. I am sure BOTH countries are going to be much better off under new leadership.

Yes, Boris won in a landslide. But before he did he lost vote after vote. Three, actually.  AND he lost a court case which found he acted illegally in suspending Parliament. That was my point. I thought it was pretty simple but apparently not simple enough for you. So let me restate it s.l.o.w.l.y.
I think his win yesterday was because despite all his losses he was still a stronger candidate than Corbyn. So he out- fumbled the even weaker Corbyn to victory because people were sick of the Brexit logjam.
I doubt this concept will be simple enough for you, but I remain hopeful that even a dimwit like Wu may eventually get it.
Just kidding.

A vote for Johnson was a vote for BREXIT, a vote for Corbyn was a vote to remain in the EU. The vote was overwhelmingly for Johnson/BREXIT. Either way the vote went the log jam would be over, in this case, just like here in 2016, nationalism and national interests won out over globalism and the socialists desire for "rich" people/countries to simply hand over all their wealth to poor people/countries out of some misguided sense of guilt.

Democrats would call Obama racist right now for the things he said about illegal immigration. I cant figure out what this party represents anymore and 2020 Democrats are going to get a wake up call.

And so what? Obviously they knew he stood for Brexit. My point was people got fed up with paralysis and voted for the person they thought most likely would get them out of it. And, like Trump, simpletons will ALWAYS go for the candidate who promises simple solutions. You are a good example of this: a simpleton who loves Trump.

Recent polls from this past week have 46 % FOR impeachment and 52% against, with 2% undecided.  The most telling poll was that indies are rejecting impeachment.  Its expected that Lefties will be for it, and Righties will be against it, but the indie numbers have been moving down (to Trump's favor) and now sit somewhere around 30% in favor of impeachment.  This is bad news for the Dems.  It means they were selling and the people in the middle who were open-minded were not buying it.

Because of the huge number of Dem voters on each Coast.   That's why we have the electoral college . . . . . so that a couple of the most populous states can't control the country.  Duh.

This country was largely created out of the resentment that came from "taxation without representation" The electoral college in large part came out of the desire that we not repeat that mistake in our own, newly founded country.

The coastal elites love to call the center of the country "fly over country" with the implication that it's only worth "flying over" on the way to somewhere important like NYC, LA or DC. Good thing the founders had the foresight to have created the electoral college, or sparsely populated parts of the country would essentially have no vote on how the country was run.

DUH.

This is a perfect example of a post that is too stupid to respond to.   After I explained about the electoral college, he doubles down on stupid.  Classic Laffy.
