The initial tax was 6.2 %, which was brought down to 4.2%..The Congress just let the holiday expire..

Like..when your holiday ends you go back to work...Just like that...Get it?

In my opinion, the holiday should have never been given in the first place as it dug a huge hole in Social Security Fund..

haven't said anything.  but I know it hurts and try to slide them some cash and buy their lunches when I can.
