The picture below shows our GDP growth from 2003-2007 (Pre-Pelosi).  Our expansion was 2nd among the G8 countries.  Since your mini Democrat revolution do you think the economy has improved or gotten worse?  Come on and wow us with your brilliance.

the Democrats will not win the White House.
Your present a valid and fair question and I will attempt to answer in a rational manner. Yes, I do not agree with this Republican's Administration expansion of Medicare and the Homeland Secuirity department etc. The scandals make me angry and yet, I will still vote for Republican. The reason, Patriotism. Let me explain.

For me and most Americans (thank God) we believe in the preamble of the United States Constitution which begins:

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America".

AS a young man I was asked to swear before God, to protect and preserve the Constitution. I was prepared and I am still willing to fight and die this solemn oath. You may ask why?  Living here on the west coast, my liberal friends think I am brainwashed.

I simply recite the words my Drill Sergeant, drilled into me and that is: "I will fight for your right to disagree with me".

You see in my world, if we don't have the US Constitution I do not have the liberty to select the church of my choosing, the job I want, the friends I choose to commiserate with, and secure the Blessings for my family. I will vote for the person who will best protect and preserve the US Constitution for you and I.

Now, liberals such as Senator Obama said right here in San Francisco, "people in small towns cling to their God and guns". I replied Amen, and is why Sarah Palin is becoming beloved and the Democrats are befuddled.

Gov. Palin understands and lives in my world which is:

1. Put family and friends above fame and fortune,
2. Put country above self,
3. and most of all put God above all else.

When Senator Obama replied in Saddleback what was his greatest moral failure he provided a legal answer not a moral answer and there is a difference. The answer Obama provided with his drug use was an answer to a failure to man's law. Senator McCain replied with an answer of his failure of being obedient to the commandments of our Lord.

and can you expand that graph to cover the entire period of the Bush Administration?

then, can you show a comparison of the economic growth under 8 years of the Clinton administration versus 8 (7.5) years of the Bush Administration?

And if possible, can you highlight the years where the GOP controlled all three houses?

Don't know if I'm asking too much of you, but if its possible, Please, and Thanks.

(I think that would give a more accurate reflection in context as to the success (or lack thereof) of the economy under Bush and the GOP.

It's been a while since I studied my American History, but wasn't one of the primary motivations behind the founding of the United States the desire to freely believe in the God of your choosing? Whether one chooses the phrase Freedom of Religion or Freedom From Religion, the bottom line was to freely worship the Deity of your choice without fear of punishment. Or NOT worship, if that was your way. Separation of Church and State.

Breaker, your DS was a wise man. "I disagree with what you say but will defend to the death your right to say it" a very powerful statement attributed to Voltaire in the 18th century.

And yet, it seems like the very essence of these bedrocks of liberty and freedom are being eroded by cynical powermongers manipulating these powerful concepts for their own agendas. Usually using religion as the camouflage for their real intentions.

Just my two cents.

motivations for the founding of this country and even discuss David Hume's (an atheist)and others influence on the constitution but my point was to enlighten those i.e. liberals et al the mindset of the conservative heart (mine).

Now to your point as to what may be chipping away at the bedrocks of our Consitution and the liberties and freedoms we are Blessed with, well that is a different debate. In my world the financial bankruptcies we are experiencing is a result of a moral bankruptcy.

Religion I must agree with you Dr. Gonzo, has been used as a camouflage for powermongers when purpose of His reflective light was meant to illuminate our lives. To me the proper use or abuse of our Blessed liberties and freedoms depends on the varying degrees of enlightment, capacity, faith, honesty, devotion, and high-mindedness of our public leaders. Of course as I point this out, I have three fingers pointing right back at me and realize I must do my part to be educated and rightly focused.

On another topic, I believe we all believe in the same God the differences we have is in only how we choose to worship Him.

If GDP growth is what you want to use to make your point, let's use that.

The average annual U.S. GDP growth from 1992 through 1999 was 3.67%.  The average annual GDP growth from 2000 through 2007 was 2.51%.  

I'll do the math for you - the GDP growth during the 92-99 time period was 46% higher than during the 2000-07 period.

Maybe you might want to pick another indicator?(I'll even do you a favor...don't use our deficit numbers).

For all the bluster of the Republicans on this board, I was expecting a little more.

I asked a very simple question, and one guy attaches some bullshit GDP chart for a portion of the Bush years and doesn't provide any context (because it would've undermined the point he wanted to make).

That's it.  One person.

Figures.  For all the confidence there seems to be on this board that only Republicans can grow and improve this economy, the facts just aren't there to support it.  Sorry guys.

do you want the actual cash value of all all the stocks when he was Pres, or the inflated hype price before they went bust..I can only scoff  when  hearing about Clintons economy when in fact it was a hypothetical economy fueled by fools and hope..Look at all the companies that had values of 200 million when in fact they had the daily sales of a 7-11  or a piggly wiggly in Alaska..
Lets keep it real  ..ha  not on this board but I enjoy the clinton blinders..
