A federal judge said Thursday that President Donald Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship was “blatantly unconstitutional” and issued a temporary restraining order to block it.

 
Judge John Coughenour, a Ronald Reagan appointee who sits in Seattle, granted the request by Washington Attorney General Nick Brown and three other Democratic-led states for the emergency order halting implementation of the policy for the next 14 days while there are more briefings in the legal challenge.

“I have been on the bench for over four decades. I can’t remember another case where the question presented was as clear,” Coughenour said.

 
“Where were the lawyers” when the decision to sign the executive order was made, the judge asked. He said that it “boggled” his mind that a member of the bar would claim the order was constitutional.

the four Blue States had to go to Seattle, Washington, and bring their motion before the 83-year-old judge there?  I wonder how many people were researching judges for the Dems to find a judge with the same mental acuity as Joe Biden?  I think this judge's mind was boggled long before this motion came before him.   It doesn't matter if the judge was appointed by Reagan.  You can't sit on the Bench for over 40 years in a place like Seattle and be a conservative or constitutionalist.  People become a product of their environment, and that's why Dems picked this judge instead of one in Utah or West Virginia.

You assert that the 14th "was INTENDED to protect those who's [sic] parents entered the US legally." But since, as you say, this "has never been visited by SCOTUS" neither you nor anyone else has any idea if it is so limited. And there have been lower court cases over the years that assert it DOES cover those born here whose parents entered illegally. So the prevailing rulings say you're wrong.

U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman heard arguments Wednesday over a request by five pregnant undocumented women to block Trump's Day-1 executive order seeking to redefine the meaning of the 14th Amendment to exclude the children of undocumented immigrants from birthright citizenship.

 
"The denial of the precious right to citizenship will cause irreparable harm," Judge Boardman said in handing down her order. "It has been said the right to U.S. citizenship is a right no less precious than life or liberty. If the court does not enjoin enforcement of the executive order, children subject to the order will be denied the rights and benefits of U.S. citizenship and their parents will face instability."
