Trump and his team are now starting to realize that a recount in WI, MI and PA will disrupt the electoral college process and push the 2016 election into the hands of Congress while drawing the legitimacy of Trump's presidency into question. This whole process of being appointed by Congress, combined with a loss of the popular vote, would then cast a dark shadow over their administration.

.......for its truly undemocratic nature. Imagine the House having to elect our next POTUS, then think about the tens of millions of anti Trump voters that will turn out in Washington to protest Trump on Inauguration Day. This is going to be an epic Inauguration event for the ages.

I really need some of whatever you are smoking.
Have you and Jill Stein been sharing a bowl?
GaG, based on recent precedent ( which, this election year, is a shaky guideline to rely on ) you repeatedly say that the Trump naysayers will be proved wrong. Of course, the same could be applied to you if things don't work out, a distinct possibility. He has terrible structural flaws : he's gonna wind up 2.5 million popular votes behind the 8 ball & he's perceived as an unstable bigot by millions. The fact that he beat 17 GOP candidates & HRC shows that he has a great deal of predatory "street smarts" or "business shrewdnes"s to convince millions of rubes to vote for a con man. However, using his business" intelligence" to campaign & using intellect ( another form of intelligence ) to govern is another matter entirely. When it comes to the incredibly complex job of being POTUS, he's intellectually bankrupt & doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about.
The remedy to all this is for him just to manage the economy & delegate everything else to subordinates. Getting rid of Stephen Bannon & getting an infrastructure bill passed would also be big pluses.
I said in 2000 that GWB would be a disaster & was right. Historians unanimously rate Buchanan as the worst POTUS for failing to prevent the Civil War. Those 2 look like Lincoln compared to Trump.
Maybe I'll be proved wrong. We'll see.
Have you and Jill Stein been sharing a bowl?
I think we can both agree that being a great campaigner or a great politician doesn't translate into being a great leader. Where it comes to experience Trump has a hell of a lot more experience than the man he is succeeding when he took the job.
Trump is doing a better job of picking "subordinates" than did Obama. Obama surrounded himself with academics, with no experience in the real world. I don't think Trump could do worse if he tried.
I agree about an infrastructure bill, that combined with a 2 TRILLION dollar shot in the arm to our economy will give this anemic economy the very shot in the arm it's been desperate for. I see 4% "real" GDP growth as VERY possible over the next couple of years.
I noticed you failed to state that Trump hardly has a mandate, so I will say it for you. Trump most definitely does NOT have a mandate and that should keep some of the sillier things like a "big beautiful wall" from happening, or any possibility of deporting 11 or 12 million illegal aliens like he said during the campaign.
lol, better tell the lefties that.
Remember Cheesy he WON white woman by a staggering 53-43.
The "vote for me bc I have a vagina" message and the "war on women" nonsense are officially dead.
and maybe Trump is just going to resign from office before even taking the oath of office like so many of you have been predicting.
.....then the House picks the POTUS and of course they will elect Trump, with HRC winning the popular vote by over 2 million votes. Pray tell me how you think Trump will now have a "mandate" to upend popular programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security etc. FYI, Obama care has 20 million enrollee's receiving various government subsidies, that should be very easy to repeal..lol. This latest recount effort is one way to destroy our electoral system of deciding Presidents and the Clinton's and their political machinery are solidly behind this recount. Just to remind you, two days before Nov 8th, you had resigned yourself to a Trump loss. The only guy who quite accurately predicted a win by Trump was Nnoway.
And the Senate will block him from doing it unless the Reps use the "nuclear option." Several have said they won't do it. We'll see if they change their minds. It all depends on how Schumer plays his cards. If Harry Reid were still there it would be a different story but he rides off into the sunset at the end of this session.
You are correct about Schumer, I don't like the guy (naturally) but he is a thousand times better than Harry Reid and I do believe he and Trump will find some common ground on some issues, but on some of the more divisive issues, gridlock will rule. Personally I am fine with that.
I predict Trumps "tax holiday" for the TRILLIONS of dollars parked offshore will get done.
I predict that Congress will NOT approve countless billions of dollars for the wall, but that to save face Trump will spend a certain amount of political capital to ensure he can at least "claim" to have kept his word.
Obamacare is a bit dicier, I honestly don't know what we are going to end up with under Trump, I am confident however that whatever we end up with, it's going to be better than anything we would have gotten under Clinton, at the very least the capital gains Obamacare tax should be a thing of the past. That alone was enough reason to vote for him IMO.
You seem to have completely forgotten about Quadseasonal who not only predicted a Trump victory, but actually worked for the Trump campaign.
And yet, he's been absent from this board since the election... and while everyone (including his BFF here) seems to be foaming at the mouth to trash ignorant shill guy #30, I haven't seen anyone even give Quad his props let alone apologize for the obnoxious treatment he received at the hands of Planet Stupid and their resident Minister-without-portfolio.
If ever anyone on this board had the right to gloat, its him. Points for class on his part that he hasn't.

When all States must certify their elections for President and VP. I know that closer date is even better for you that want to create chaos but get it right.
It won't disrupt anything Clinton already accepted defeat.
Just learned George Stephanopoulos and Martha Raddatz will be on the View Monday morning with BREAKING NEWS. Appears millions of missing votes have been discovered and they're still searching for more, proving they were correct all along.
Apparently millions of voters mistook the outhouse for the ballot box and accidently placed them inside. They're in the process of wiping them down and so far none have been found to be marked at all, but claim to have proof these souls all voted for Hill.
President Elect Trump shaking his head is said to not be disputing the claim while looking at Hill standing waist deep among the votes claiming victory at last, victory at last.
President Obama still in disbelief was quoted as saying, this election had the smell all along and is going to be quite a mess.
This recount effort is just to show how ridiculously outdated the electoral college process has become.
I'd do away with the electoral process for Presiden.
The majority could care less who is on the SCOTUS, the majority does not care what is law.
And guys like Salty think he is smarter than the founders.
What he doesn't understand is that we wouldn't have even formed a union without states rights as the states were so leery of giving a central, federalized government all the power due to how England abused their power with the colonies.
Whiney, sore loser Dems can bitch about the process all they want but there will be no changes, nor should there be.
This is just a play to make "fly over country" even less important.
The recount is certainly showing how important "battleground states" can be.
The popular vote is another story. In California alone, registered Democrats outpaced Republicans by 2.7 million.
I'm not going to question how many of those voters are illegal immigrants given the opportunity to vote for Clinton; I consider THAT bit of tripe to be a Red Herring. And Trump did far better with the Hispanic demograph than anyone could have projected anyway.
But it does give one pause to consider.
Except President Obama himself said there is "no there there" wrt the election being tainted.
Replacing the Electoral College with a purely popular vote would only and always favor Democrats.
Today's world features extremely sophisticated technology. Why not use it to develop an alternative that retains the integrity and security of the voting process. Meanwhile, repeat after me... the recount is a stupid waste of time money and political capital and serves no useful purpose to anyone but Hillary and her new stunt double Jill Stein.
Personally, I was in favor of California seceding as far back as the Enron scandal when I still lived there. They've already got more than 1 million signatures thanks to the financial and technological support of Silicon Valley.
Let me know when they vote on it, I'll host the viewing party and even supply the popcorn and dabs.

As a state California has no ability to simply print worthless money with which to pay their unfunded obligations.
What they are going to do when the rubber finally meets the road is beyond me.
I was born and raised in California and almost my entire family still lives there, but I will never again live in the state of my birth, not the way the state has been run over the last couple of decades. California has HUGE problems and without the ability to print money, they may have to simply declare the financial version of martial law to pay their obligations and simply seize money from those who have it. Otherwise the eighth largest economy in the world is going to have to default on it's debts, that is a very scary proposition.
Speaking of Enron, I couldn't believe how arrogant and STUPID the idiots in Sacramento were back then, they thought they could simply legislate how the free market in other states worked and ended up costing the state countless billions of dollars due to their ineptness.
I left in 2013 for similar reasons and have no desire to return other than the very occasional visit.
It wasn't just the ineptness of Grey Davis and the Sacto Scumbags though they did make it easy for Kenneth Lay and Enron to suck the life out of California. To this day, I am still convinced George W Bush with a nod and a wink looked the other way as his Texas cronies raped California of its 50 billion dollar surplus, turning it into a deficit from which the state never really recovered.
As for California printing worthless money, you are correct, they can always try to print worthless paper and call it money. But unless its secured by Silicon Valley / Beverly Hills Billions, its problematic.
On the other hand, it probably HAS been a while since you've been there. In Northern California, particularly Humboldt County, MARIJUANA has been a de facto currency for the locals for some years now. I was traveling through Garberville in 2010 and saw a fellow pay for his tank of gas with a bag of pot. Later that day I stopped at the market in Myer's Flat and a young lady paid for her groceries with a bag of pot. And now, on 1/1/17, its completely legal.
The Secession movement in California has qualified for the Spring 2019 ballot. A great deal can, and probably WILL happen between now and then. My offer of hosting the viewing party stands, assuming I still am too.
What they are going to do when the rubber finally meets the road is beyond me.

The geniuses in Sacramento thought they could regulate natural gas produced and consumed in California, but thought they could through legislative action dictate how the free market in other states and even other countries could operate. Those dipshits ended up costing their states tens of Billions of dollars when they found themselves paying an extra $4-5 per mmbtu than anyone else by boxing themselves into these higher prices through their own ineptitude.
I know it's much easier to blame George Bush and Haliburton, but California did this all to themselves.
