First, desperate to show some sort of progress, he got the Brits to make a sham announcement of a tariff deal. Except it was a deal with no details. They would be filled in later. In other words, not a deal. Then, going into talks with China he said he'd drop tariffs against China from 145% to 80%. So he made a concession going in before the negotiations even started. That's called negotiating against yourself. What a loser.
