Given the wonderful  interchange of information and opinion on GD board and elsewhere, and the openness to exchange of information and opinion that predominates outside of this board, I am really surprised and somewhat disappointed with what I see happening here.

An awful lot of the "content" posted on this board is knee jerk, reactionary, un-nuanced, partisan political opinion. Don't we get enough of that in the media?

It sure would be nice to spend the time and energy on exploring and learning something, exchanging honest ideas  rather than spouting the same old diatribe. I'm getting really board '

Though it is fun to see some of the responses my posts have received. Perhaps I'll stick around a while. The level of discourse could use a little help....  (I'm not really an egoist, I'm tweaking you, all in good fun)

To those of you to whom the above description does not apply, I appreciate you! Don't take blanket offense....
