It's just not recognizable as the GOP of Lincoln or even of Bush and McCain. It's the party of the Evangelicals, the greedy and fearful and the stupid, all in the thrall of The Donald, to whom they will subsume their principals, their morality and the Constitution itself. They know they are done after Trump and are all in -- including knowingly being run by the Russians and the NRA -- in order to try for one last term during which they can pack the courts for a generation. Then they'll be happy to be out of power in the other two branches of government for a few decades.
