that a pack of bacon is now $8.  The belly scrap part of the hog.

What is your thoughts on why our groceries have skyrocketed?  Are we running out of food?  Is the USA selling off it's food supply to China?  Is our dollar devalued?

I am horrified every time I grocery shop?  Have any of you been lately and could possibly win at The Price is Right?  Items are going up by the dollars not cents!  Why is that?

Can't remember the when the last time was I had bacon. Processed meats aren't good for you. I don't eat much, so my costs are not that much. Much like with the cost of gasoline, I don't drive far, so it doesn't matter much. I set up my life to be as frugal as possible. It gives one a great buffer against such drastic changes in prices.

I prepare my meals at home mostly, it has to be something special to eat and special occasion for me to eat out.  Because of burnout with eating out, sickly feeling after I eat it..

I could be vegetarian, but I do splurge and cook bacon once a week.

Even though it doesn't effect your life because you are single and have a low grocery bill, how do you feel about families highest monthly bill is groceries?  Is that not disturbing?

One of the biggest contributors to the high price of many meats is the boondoggle called Ethanol.

Surely you don't think that burning up millions of bushels of corn is not going to have an effect of food prices, did you? At this time of year in seasons past you could buy ten-twenty ears of corn for a buck, Now you are lucky to get three ears for a dollar even at the height of the season. Now a couple of bucks extra for a few ears of corn for your BBQ is no biggie, but multiply that by the millions, literally billions of ears that are used by ranchers to feed their pigs, cows etc. That's where your money is going.

obamanomics

obama and his lefty minions are trying to tell us the economy is getting better. Well you and all of us are finding out it is not getting better.
8 bucks for a pack (most likely less than a pound) of bacon.

Yes obama inherited a shitty economic situation  and he has made it worse, much worse…..8 bucks for a pack of bacon, gasoline and other fuels have more than doubled since he took office. In fact the price of everything has increased. Would you call that an improved economy?…I think not……I do not.

  Thank you

...don't eat pork, so he doesn't want anyone else eating it either.

Muslim Obama also is responsible for the lime shortage because Muslims don't drink alcohol so he is trying to reduce the consumption of margaritas.

When it comes to pigs, the BLS knows.

As for the corn, 3 for a buck is abargin for BLS, he eats the corn and has a party with the cob.

In 2009, DuPont disclosed it was adding a Monsanto Co. (MON) genetic technology, used to make crops resistant to weedkillers, to its product because the combination helped boost crop yields. Monsanto sued and in August 2012 a federal jury in St. Louis awarded Monsanto $1 billion in damages.

I'm no Obama fan but I can't blame him for gasoline prices doubling.....they dipped during the financial crisis when the crude oil price plummeted, but they are now back to basically where they were in 2006-7.

It's called Quantitative Easing and it's the reason the stock market is doing so well.  It's not good for those of us on "Main St" but it is necassary to make Obama's policies look less disastrous.

My tax dollars are being spend on many things I don't agree. Why the fuck we give handouts to corporations and call ourselves a capitalist economy?

but beside the point. Wouldn't you rather have your tax dollars go farther, even if you don't support how the money is being spent.

I don't like anchovies, but I'd rather get 3 for 1, instead of 2 for 1?

Socialism for the rich, capitalism for the rest. Keeps 'em rich. Socialism works, in moderation.
