I'd much rather get back to budget discussions but I have to wonder something about Afghanistan.

The fact that most of the Taliban are boarder jumping back and forth between Pakistan and Afghanistan, and that we know that at least some portion of the government in Pakistan was helping bin Laden...

Is there any way that we can stabilize Afghanistan with Pakistan's tolerance and support of the people we are fighting? (Without going to war with Pakistan which is just not in the cards)

I don't see how we can accomplish anything in the long term at this point.  Whatever we do can and will be undone by factions in Pakistan, which are most likely being  funded with our money.

I don't see any outcome here that could even be considered an acceptable loss.

I have always supported efforts in Afghanistan, to help build the country up, but unfortunately I think we have gotten to the point that we have to just pull out.
