I would guess it's just a bunch of people that are scared, pretty much every one has been debunked as no concern though.

In regards to the recovery, in general I would guess it depends on where you live and what you do.  I work in IT, and it's great up here in MN for IT work, and most jobs in general, then again we are also well below the national average in terms on unemployment at 5.5%.
