Does anyone still think Al Franken is going to survive politically

and does anyone really care?

Unlike the people calling for Moore to drop out of the race which would hand over a crucial Senate seat to the Dems,  an Al Franken resignation would just mean a new Dem would take his place.

Personally I think Franken is toast, just like I don't believe that Moore will be able to function as an actual Senator assuming he wins the seat.

My question is, do any of you think that Franken either "will" survive, or alternatively that he "should" survive?

Personally I think the Dems would be better served if Franken were to step down, If Franken does not step down the Dems lose the moral high ground when they move to unseat Moore, assuming of course he gets elected.

He is guilty of nothing more than a bad joke that was completely acceptable when he did it.  If our world has evolved to the point where trying to kiss a girl is now criminal or even merely socially unacceptable, then we should just give up as a species.

The logical conclusion is that men and women live separately and we procreate by email and 3D printers.

At this point it's "drip, drip, drip" and every female Dem. Senator has said he needs to go.  And he should, especially if the Dems want any moral high ground to go after Moore if he wins.

What could it possibly be except his retirement?

because it is impossible to find an adult male who, since he was 5 years old, has not kissed a girl or been in a crowded elevator with other women and come into contact with one or more of them or cracked a dirty joke or harbored a lascivious thought or ... pretty much NOT done anything that might have offended anyone who knows that candidate.
.
I don't care WHO steps forward as being saintly enough to pass muster for candidacy.  They will be shot down to hell in one press release.
.
My opinion, based the news articles I have read: Franken did a lot of stuff in the open as a professional comedian and gets a partial pass; Franken is accused of other things behind closed doors: no pass. Based on the cards, yearbooks, credible (to me) personal testimony, I think that Moore is a sleazebag who, should he be elected to the Senate, be impeached and removed therefrom.
.
That's why the next Senator from Minn will be a woman.

and he even used the word "her" when talking about his eventual replacement. lol

As for Franken, good riddance, I couldn't believe it when he was elected in the first place and I am on record saying as much right here on this very board. I thought it was just a bad joke when I heard he was even running and the joke has only gotten worse as the years have gone by.

and I'm surprised the Dems forced him out. I guess the picture was too damning and now the dems can claim morality.

How could they keep clamoring for Roy Moore to drop out of the race while at the same time seen protecting one of their own, especially when their guy already admitted to it?

Now if there was even the slightest chance that Franken's seat would end up going to a Republican, they would have fought tooth and nail to keep Franken in office, but with the opportunity to not only keep the seat blue, but to replace Franken with a woman to boot, this was a no-brainer for the Dems.

For the record, I'll offer a hundred to one that this is hardly the end of the "purging" It wouldn't surprise me if a new "sexual predator" were to be plastered all over the news every day for the next several months and a whole bunch of them are going to be politicians.

Ever watch women's golf. It's much different than the men's broadcast. The camera men tend to zoom on the golfers tits, ass and legs. The outfits thankfully are much different than than the traditional men's uniforms. I'm a fan of Michelle Wie.

No doubt publishers are lining up with proposals already.  And it's a natural, since Al is a bright, funny guy who actually knows how to write.  And it's a great tale, from his comedy upbringings, to his years in the Senate (lots of payback there) and his final fall.  Hell, I'd even buy it myself.  He'll make at least $10 million, if not more.
