I admire your diligence. It must have taken hours to whittle the list down to ten.

Why are (most) Republicans so "stupid"? No really, I'm being serious. Y'all know what I mean, so don't pretend you don't. And I'm not just talking about the Dan Quayle and Dubya's of the GOP, but the overwhelming majority that run for higher office. It's as if the higher you want to climb in the party the dumber you must be or become (sort of the opposite with Democrats). Now don't get me wrong, there are plenty of stupid Democrats, but they just don't run for high office (at least not as much as Republicans).

It must be the old saying that the lowest common denominator has the greatest appeal to the masses. My god, just think of the millions in this country that talk (and think) just like Bush does.

Bingo. Form sentences with multisyllabic words and you're labelled an "elitist".

I won't bore you with the stages of adult development which have several related dimensions - the status of egocentrism, abstract thinking and ability to draw new connections, emotional range, and most importantly, moral development are some of them.

Fear and anger as base motivators, enthnocentrism (my country right or wrong) and black-and-white thinking represent are primary characteristics at the median on the developmental bell curve.
