True, very true. And the obvious fact is both sides keep pointing at each other for doing the same thing.

My biggest fear is when this house of cards (deficit and debt), come tumbling down. Maybe it never will and we just keep expanding our credit line.

Is there any end to the "purity" that so many liberals demand?

You can't even be civil in this day and age to someone the libs despise without calls to deprive you of your very livelihood.

As far as links go, take your pick, here are about a dozen of them.

Vince Vaughn is openly Libertarian and friends with Ron and Rand Paul.  Vince has spoken at Libertarian events.

I couldn't have cared less who shook Obama's hand as I only cared if they adopted some of his stupid policies like Ocare.

This really isn't all that much different then what many hookers are saying on twitter now and if someone DARES to step out of line, they get hammered, and act just like the bullies they say they despise so much.

Remember when libs used to talk about "tolerance." And what did that come to mean? "Tolerate" everything liberal and NOTHING conservative. What a joke they have become.

William F Buckley observed that long ago “Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views.”

Bernie Goldberg tells the story in his book "Bias" what a CBS news correspondent said to him just after the 1984 presidential election:

"I don't know how Reagan won. Nobody I know voted for him."

Reagan carried 49 states. lol

Supposedly that's attributed to Pauline Kael, film critic for The New Yorker, about Nixon.  The only record of something from her like that quote was this:  “I live in a rather special world. I only know one person who voted for Nixon. Where they are I don’t know. They’re outside my ken. But sometimes when I’m in a theater I can feel them.”  The fake quote is probably a pretty good summary of her longer version, though.

Like when Matt Gaetz and others questioned Trump for the first time over Iran and were vilified by the right.
You're a hypocrite, GaGa.

Not to mention Matt Gaetz is a POLITICIAN, who put out an opinion and got pushback for it.

Vince Vaughn was just having a brief, and apparently friendly conversation with Trump and the left lost what was left of your collective minds.

Even worse was the outrage directed towards Ellen who didn't even talk to Trump, she was vilified for being nice to Bush, the guy Dims now claim they wish Trump would emulate.

Your statement wasn't hypocritical Nick, it was idiotic.

Just how does the fact that Gaetz is a politician make the comparison wrong? You give an example of the left going after someone who "steps out of line" and I give an example from the right. Only an idiot like YOU would make your argument. And it happens ALL THE TIME with the right, whether it's politicians or not.
So that makes you an IDIOT AND a Hypocrite.

Matt Gaetz took on the POTUS and got pushback from other Republicans. Vince Vaughn had a 30 second conversation that could have been simply about the game for all we know, and Lefties are calling for boycotts against him?

You are TSTTT or as has been suggested TLTTT (Too Laffyish To Talk To)  Now PLEASE go back to your stupid argument (if you can even call it that) with FM. I have ZERO desire to debate this further. Even you don't believe what you are saying. NO ONE, not even BFSF is stupid enough to buy what you are selling.

And you FAIL to see you didn't even make your own case. But you think simply asserting you DO is the same as actually making your case. It ain't.  Also, I don't rest my case just on Gaetz because there are others as well, such as Tucker Carlson, who was also vilified. And he's not a politician.
Now tell me why anyone should care if you have "ZERO desire to debate this further?" But go ahead and flounce off like Lady GaGa would.
No one else is buying what you're selling either. Hypocrite.

Interestingly both Vince and Ellen could do this ...

candiates you could POSSIBLY vote for in Nov?......Bloomberg perhaps???, he's no liberal, but a moderate....You could vote for him right?

I preferred Kamala Harris, but her campaign went about as bad as every 4-team parlay I did in the NFL past season....

Yes, of course he's a liberal, but the goal posts have moved so far that he is the only candidate on your side that I think this country could survive. He is only a moderate because everyone else in your party is left of Castro or Maduro. Even WillyfuckingWonka has seen them for what they are.

Remember when Donald Trump won last time and the market IMMEDIATELY tanked, and then people came to their collective senses and the market has been on a tear ever since? If Bloomberg were to become POTUS, I don't see a five thousand point overnight drop in the DJIA. If Pocahontas were to win, I see a  ten thousand point drop. If the "Angry old Jew" were to win, maybe a 7,500 point drop, and so on and so forth down to Bloomberg where I don't see the market crashing at all.

People like Susan Collins and Mitt Romney are called "moderates" when in fact they are pretty far right....Susan Collins votes for practically ALL of the current president's judicial and executive nominees....

The only GOP "moderates" are those who are no longer alive like Dwight Eisenhower, Gerald Ford, Jacob Javits (senator from NY), Nelson Rockefeller....You'd be HARD pressed to find a TRUE moderate GOPer from 1995 to present day...

I have no  fears about a Sanders, Warren effect on the market....If the market hasn't crashed and burned with this erratic and inept monster in the WH, hell I'm not sure if a Cardi B presidency would ruin it....President's in general probably get too much undeserved credit for a robust stock market and take too much blame when it collapses....Markets are like gas prices, in that many complex worldwide factors effect it and it's not cut & dry...

"Moderate" is a smuggle word.  If you hear someone talking about moderates, they are trying to smuggle in some bogus reference point.

posts.  Civility is not even close to a priority of yours.  Nice troll though.  You are quite skilled at getting some to chase the bait.

You do not sound like a bad guy.  Am guessing this is your entertainment and after all, you aren't stoking REAL divisiveness as this is just a website with a very limited audience--just a bunch of mongers and a few who support our habit.

Does TER give you free VIP days for trolling?

I'm wondering if that's the case because of the number of stupid ass posts from the user "Laffy" and "iNicky".  I have both on ignore, and I kid you note, 90% of the threads on P and R show "Ignore" on the listing page. Its quite startling to see how much crap there is on here.

You can pretty much cut and paste the responses from the left, and I'm guessing aforementioned posters do just that.

how all posts from the right are; honest, bipartisan, inclusive, and altruistic.  How do you think we can get the left to see things from our point of view?

Maybe they simply do not respect the amazing job we have done on healthcare, eliminating our national debt, getting North Korea to denuclearize, having Mexico fund the wall (not by stealing billions from our military budget or going against our GOP congress/senate when we had the majority), and so much, much more.

Not holding my breath.  True we only have a limited audience on TER.  Limited in so many obvious ways.

hot seat right now.  The side that is in the hot seat is failing miserably in so many ways, yet deflecting attention elsewhere as to avoid confronting the difficult decisions they are paid to deal with.

All too often, it takes courage and self sacrifice to do something truly important to the American people.  Those in power right now, sadly, value their own personal gain above the gain of the American people, more so than any time in our nation's history.

Maybe a little too profound for a fuck board, but the absolute truth.

The House of Representatives is most definitely in the hot seat this election cycle, they will have to answer to the voters this fall and explain why they squandered the majority they won in 2018 trying to undo the election of 2016.  I predict the voters will realize the mistake they made in 2018 and fix things in 2020.
