IMHO, Jimmy Carter. I think its why he succeeded so well at Camp David and Beijing, and ironically why he was so ineffectual in other areas. He's been far more effective as an Elder Statesman than he ever was as President.

else there would be real investigations, rather than being advanced by the likes of Michael Moore and sdstud (though I don't mean to criticize sd's hygiene habits, about which I remain blissfully ignorant).

And the notion that "local school boards are probably integrities' [sic] last stop" isn't paying attention.  If you accepted the same standard that the far Left applies to Republican Administrations --- i.e., corruption defined as advancing the beliefs upon which you ran and were elected --- every politician is corrupt.  And even if you believed that the White House was helping its corporate friends --- a nonsensical proposition, given that Halliburton's prominence in federal contracting predated this Administration --- then local school board's are more corrupt, since most are in the back pocket of teachers' unions.

Everyone should be offended by this!  Conservatives and liberals alike!!
