Typical Tea Party hypocrisy! Joe Walsh's political views contradict his actions. One core belief of the Tea Party is that everyone should be completely self-sufficient and fulfill her/his own personal obligations. This is the value of individualism. In the present case, the former representative is not living up to the values that he so ardently advocates.

Former Illinois Congressman Joe Walsh wants to stop making child support payments because he is unemployed.

Walsh insisted throughout his failed bid for re-election that he wasn't a "deadbeat dad" as asserted by opponents. However, according to his ex-wife's attorney, Walsh skipped the $2,134 support payment owed in January.

Lawyer Jack Coldarci told the Chicago Sun-Times on Feb. 1 that he filed his request in Cook County Circuit Court to terminate his child support obligation.

The filing states Walsh's employment was "terminated through no voluntary act of his own" and he is without sufficient income or assets with which to continue to pay.

He wasn't my congressman, but I gave to get his ass out....he's a moron.
Good Riddance to Bad Effin Rubbish!

I'm no Joe Walsh fan, but if he's entitled to file a request to terminate his child support obligation due to lack of employment, income or other financial resources, then I believe he has every right to do so. I know I had to do the same when I went through a divorce and lost employment. It wasn't a permanent condition. Once, I had regained employment my payments resumed. I just have my doubts as to how honest he is regarding his financial situation.
