Trump weasels out on new legislation on background checks for guns

Virtually everyone -- even McConnell -- said they were for it and Trump supported it. Until he met with the NRA's Wayne -- Bride of Satan -- La Pierre at Donnie's golf club in NJ. Naturally, he backed down. As he always has.
Weasel.

such a negative word.  I think you're being a little harsh.  He met with the opposition to the bill (NRA) who probably explained to him that NONE of the recent mass shooters would have been denied a gun purchase under the PROPOSED background checks from the House and Senate.  Something else that is more comprehensive is needed, and he will wait until Congress comes up with something that would flag the potential mass shooters.  I still like my idea of a psych evaluation for purchasers under 35 years of age.  Most black on black shooting is committed with guns purchased on the street, not from licensed dealers.

The only people that will be screened out under the present proposed legislation are the bib-overall-wearing hillbillys who are not going to show up on a TRW report.  However, these are the rural people that NEED guns to put meat on the table for their families.  (Possum Kiev or Raccoon Alfredo anyone?)

Raccoon Alfredo??? EVERYONE knows that "coon" is a dark meat, who in their right mind would put a dark meat in a white Alfredo sauce?

Must I teach you EVERYTHING??? lol

You are correct of course with your statement that the backround check that Trump just flip flopped on would not have stopped any of the recent mass shootings.

Now I will toss the libs a bone, just like "bump stocks" I could most definitely get behind a ban on "large capacity" barrel magazines that hold up to 100 rounds. Without the high capacity magazines an "assault rifle" only looks scarier than any other semi automatic rifle. Using the Dayton shooting as an example, without the high capacity magazine he had, the body count quite likely would have been cut in half. I am not in favor of "feel good" laws that don't actually have any impact on stopping these crimes, or even mitigating the body count, but bump stocks and 100 round magazines can't really be argued that they have a place in a civilized society.

If GaG wants to outlaw high-capacity magazines, I'm willing to trade TWO high-capacity AR-15 mags for a full-auto conversion kit.  That should make me much safer to be around.

raccoon  is a "dark" meat, in an alfredo sauce, it gives the dish a little color (I would add some English peas for color, too), and if you pair it with a nice pinot grigio, it actually "works."
