This plan has gained traction in Dem controlled states, but the Democrats failed to flip one state legislature this year.  

And the plan is not tenable. Once a state recognizes that their EV votes would go against the will of their constituencies, that/those states could withdraw from this non-binding pact.

By joining the compact, a state agrees to have its electors vote based on the will of the voters across the country, not those only in that state.  It’s a given.

 
Yes, a state could withdraw, but no state has done so yet. And it’s a binding compact as long as a state is in it.  

 
And there’s enough blue and purple states to get to 270 and make the compact take effect.

the PROJECTION map from last Monday, the day before the election.  RCP has not changed it since then.  They are NOT taking states back.  The gray states were the toss-ups BEFORE the election, not now.
