What are peoples thoughts on the Bad Bunny show?

This is putting the what ever political bullshit aside.... Here is my take.    The stage/set was well done.    But singing in Spanish was a bad mistake.   I know he is a Latin entertainer.   But only about 20% of the USA speaks Spanish.   So you alienated 80%.      I know the NFL is trying to "expand" to other countries.... but England, Germany, Ireland, etc.   Don't speak Spanish.   Mexico does.      So right there your international aspect of it cut out 3 of the countries you are trying to expand in ... PLUS 80% of the USA.

Again politics aside.    He also said a message that basically said that he believed in himself to get to where he is today and people need to do that.     Which again is a great message.   But deliver was off.     How many people missed that because they can't speak Spanish or ignored it because almost everything was in Spanish.

I watched it in a room of mostly black folk. Two of my in laws are hispanic and they were the only two in the room that could understand besides for myself and one other that had also traveled during time in the service.

Most of us got up and just busied ourselves elsewhere. Not our vibe

I dont care it was in spanish but it will go down in my family as forgettable.

That being said i liked that it was a divisional vibe. Bummy had burned a us flag in the past and i was slugjtlu concerned that would happen again.

And we're gonna ignore Lady Gaga's performance and the cameos by plenty, including my Cardi B. He didn't go "political" because he didn't have to. He showed people of all colors enjoying his music. I personally felt like that was a political message, but... eh.

I also speak Spanish, so I can't understand that frustration.

I was bringing to attention that doing the performance mostly in Spanish was a mistake.     Not for political reasons but because many don't speak Spanish.      The cameo's were good as well.

Like I have said I thought it was an OK performance and what not.    The political crap was what all lead up to it.   If none of the grammy and media "hoopla" on saying it is political.     Like when the "alternative" show was announced and all that crap.     If none of that happened.... people wouldn't have thought it was "political".    They would have been confused by it being mostly in Spanish.

But the cameos are just like all the other shows in the past when Cameo's come up.   They are a nice surprise to the performance.     I personally think still one of the best halftimes shows in recent years is Dr. Dre and all the cameos and people he influenced throughout his career joining in.

Bad Bunny's Super Bowl LX halftime show in 2026 reached an estimated 135 to 142.3 million viewers, marking it as one of the most-watched performances in Super Bowl history.

You soy Latina. Born in USA. The performance was phenomenal. Did you see all the celebrities dancing on stage? Karol G, Jessica Alba, Cardi B 💗 Lady Gaga performed.

If you look at all the Latino influences all around the World it was amazing. I am proud of him for using his voice. I have loved him since Amor Foda, Soy Peor

Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) is widely recognized as the King of Latin Trap 🎶  As of February 2026, Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny has won six Grammy Awards in his career. He achieved significant success at the 2026 Grammy Awards, winning three awards, including the prestigious Album of the Year for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.

I don’t speak Spanish, but I love his passion, purpose &  perseverance. The jersey he wore was for his Mother. ✊🏽  The performance was a History lesson of Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 and its people, culture, music. Deep meaning.

Dear Future Madame,

I don't believe you. I think you understand more Spanish than you're letting on. Speaking it and understanding it are two entirely separate things.

Anyhow, this post has WAY too much understanding for you NOT to get it. I'm sorry. You uncovered yourself!

Love you, Ma'am,

You are missing the point.    20% of the nation doesn't speak Spanish.   So only 20% of the "audience" got it.

You talk about the "celebrities" dancing on stage.... how many got paid or just wanted to be "seen".

Again... performance was good but missed the point of unification when it was in Spanish and not English.

I even brought up how the NFL wants to go international.... but missed the mark with the show because same thing..... those countries don't speak Spanish.

What would the country be saying if it was mostly spoken in German, Italian, etc.    That is what I am getting at.    Yes Bad Bunny won a grammy's for his albums/songs in Spanish..... but this wasn't the Grammy's.    It was a show meant to entertain an audience that might not know who you are.    Then when you sing mostly in Spanish it turned them off or could have.

It’s such a monumental moment culturally. I never knew how much Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 does so much culturally, and  the struggles this beautiful island has endured. Benito’s halftime show was educational it wasn’t just a performance.

As a Mexican-American born in Arizona & raised in San Diego I loved this epic halftime show! As a single mother raising two young Latino & Black men in training I salute 🫡 Bad Bunny! He has honored all Latino’s Worldwide.  The respect this young man has for humanity is inspiring.

You should go back and watch it again with an open mind. Maybe try having empathy. It’s rather disappointing you have no compassion. What I find even worse is how can you not get up and dance? 💃🏽 I jumped up out my seat and started dancing. His music makes this Super Mamacita happy to dance!

If you look 👀 all genders were dancing together. No hate. Love. There was even a real wedding that took place on stage it was lovely. He represented hard working businesses. Look again. He covered so many things you missed the message.

All of those great things are why 1000's of them have died trying to swim to Florida.

2/3 of the PR's don't want separation from the USA.  The ones pushing the narrative for independence are socialists who want control and the ones eating up the message are the younger generation that has enjoyed the security and economic viability that the West has created for them.  They know nothing else.  Viva Revolution!  The bunny sits in a Miami mansion enjoying the millions he's made as a direct result of capitalism while consuming all of the benefits of living in the land of milk and honey.  Somehow, I don't see the bunny going back to PR and being part of what will become an absolute shitshow when Uncle Sam packs up the office and goes home.

PR's could lose their rights to move anywhere freely within the USA or it's territories, work as they like, come and go as they like and enjoy all of the support systems managed and bankrolled by the USA.

I love Bad Bunny, but I don’t speak Spanish, so a lot of it was lost on me. It was beautiful to watch, but I couldn’t fully feel what was intended because I didn’t always understand what was happening. I would have loved hearing it in Spanish with English subtitles. The music itself is stunning, and I wouldn’t want that compromised by him singing in English, but subtitles would have made it much more enjoyable in the moment.

Since it aired, I’ve watched several commentaries explaining the symbolism and the message behind it. Now it feels like a much richer, more meaningful experience.

Your comment proves the point.     You got alot of it lost on you because you didn't speak the language.   So you had to go find the meaning of it elsewhere from different commentaries.      SEE you shouldn't have to do that for a performance.

Again.... I am not saying the performance was bad or things like that.   But it alienated many or put off many because of the language barrier.    Then with the demographics of the world.... it proves it was a bad choice.    He should have done more of it in English or all of it in English.    Then people wouldn't have possibly missed all of the meaning behind it all.  Wouldn't have to go out and find commentary to "explain" it to them.

BINGO....

People are saying your racist if you dont like it.    I have commented on how it missed the mark and proved by showing only 20% of the US speaks spanish, how the countries they want to push the sport into don't speak spanish as the national language and less of a % speak spanish in many of those countries.     Plus all sorts of other thing..... yet these libs on here just don't get it missed the mark.     I am not saying Bad Bunny shouldn't have performed.   I am saying his performance missed the mark and alienated 80% or more of its viewers.    People don't want subtitles to watch things, people dont want to have to go to other commentary to have it explained to them what they just watched.

Now with 2 years in a row with people complaining about the performances.  The NFL might just want to take a look at things.    I am not saying get a "MAGA" to perform.   I am saying let the performer know the demographics and try to match it or find a performers that will match it.

You can't just enjoy the music and the theatrical show. You can't just accept that the beauty of the art transcends the language in which the songs are sung. You are making such a big deal out of nothing.  Nothing. That suggests to me a darker reason for you feeling alienated and assuming that 80% of the viewers are too. Perhaps hate and xenophobia are really what's fueling your ire.

Do you two even know what ALIENATE MEANS:  to cause to be ESTRANGED: to make unfriendly, hostile, or INDIFFERENT ESPECIALLY WHERE ATTACHMENT FORMERLY EXISTED.   TO CAUSE TO BE WITHDRAWAL or DIVERTED.

So people didn't feel ATTACHED to the performance because they didn't understand the language.  They felt WITHDRAWN because of the language barrier.

Now by your two standards....So opera everyone should "enjoy"?    Or any all types of music.   WRONG:  Lyrics, language, styles, etc all alienate audiences.

That is what you two don't understand and are trying so hard to say I am wrong with my comments.    I am not.... when 80%+ of the country and demographics of the Superbowl viewership doesn't speak a language.    It alienates them.  They don't understand what lyrics are being said.    IT ALIENATES THEM.  Makes them feel withdrawn, indifferent to the performance.... they don't feel a connection.

I think the folks that wanted to get something out of it, did.  They either understood what he was saying/singing or they like him for his "values".  I think the majority of those in attendance simply waited for it to end.  Those watching thru media probably break down with the typical cultural or political leanings.

I was in a sportsbar at a closed to the public annual Super Bowl party.  100 attendees @ $250/ticket. All tv's but one went to halftime "horse" races that were included in the package.  The one left on showed the performance but nobody cared to watch it.  This wasn't just because of bad bunny, this was started years ago when the NFL committed to seemingly nothing but rap and hiphop.

Great party and the tickets are hard to get.  All food & booze covered as well as several "games" and a lot of raffle items.  I won a 3rd Q score for $100, a JJ jersey and a decent cooler.  Other years, I've done really well.  bad bunny really wasn't part of the day or even talked about.
