Regardless of who winds up in the oval office, we the people are fucked. The best days of our country are behind us, our long slow descent into historical footnote has begun.
In 500 years, those who still know how to read will be awestruck at the Rise and Fall of the American Empire, and at how rapidly a single individual was able to turn this country around from the most powerful and respected nation on Earth, to being the most despised ruling body since his predecessor, George 3 the Mad.

None of us will be around to see it, but those who fail to learn from history are condemned to repeat it. We the American people have certainly failed to learn from history, sitting idly by while our "trusted" government officials rape our treasury, pillage our assets, and leave a trail of carnage befitting a warlord on the rampage.

No, I haven't had coffee yet. I've just been reading the reviews of the weekends political activity and I am appalled. The only thing worse than this band of self-serving losers is the fact we the people allow these cretins to continue performing their dance.

We are hoisted by our own petard. Shame on us for allowing this to happen.

I agree, Doc. The United States has been in free fall for many years. We have surrendered our liberty and our money in exchange for an illusion, the promise of being pampered, by a bunch of dishonest wannabe tyrants. Just take a quick inventory of what has happened in the last 50 years. It is enough to make me want to stangle every SOB politician and bureaucrat. "Change", hell yes we need change, but what they are talking about is a change to even greater tyranny, not a change for the better. I want government off my ass now!!

Have I been a negative-influence on you? Damn, I read your post and had to keep checking who the author was cuz it sounded like the voices in myown head! spooky...

Our only ho e is to toss Gore into the gears of the political-fuck-machine! His over the top eco-policies will gum up "progress" for years and both dems and repubes will align against him, and Washington will grind to a halt in a total gridlock/trainwreck that will last for decades... Which is the PERFECT application of the safeguards our Founding Fathers engineered into this system of check and balance...

No progress is the most "progressive" thing we can do!

Public apathy and selfishness is the reason for this sad state of affairs in our country. It is easy to pontificate patriotism and love for the country when doing nothing.

Public is doing the same things over and over and expecting a different result.
