Big Ten football cancellation dooms Trump in Ohio.

Oh, but it's in the Times so it must be wrong. Here are a few pull-outs in case you can't open the link.
"CENTER OF THE WORLD, Ohio — As he stood outside the Dollar General store, loading groceries into his pickup, Dennis Kuchta pondered what it will mean not to have an Ohio State football season this fall.

“The bars here will all take a real hit when there aren’t games on Saturdays,” said the 69-year-old retiree, whose son-in-law played on the offensive line for the Buckeyes. “It’s a huge loss, and I don’t think people realize that yet.”

The Big Ten Conference’s decision to cancel its football season reverberated this week across Ohio, where the Buckeyes’ football program looms larger than that of any of the state’s major league sports franchises. A pillar of autumn Saturdays will be missing, and Mr. Kuchta and others in this football-mad corner of the state were looking for someone to blame.

“Trump just blew it,” Mr. Kuchta said,  alluding to President Trump’s mismanagement of the coronavirus pandemic. “He just didn’t handle it. He could have shut things down for five or six weeks and figured out what he was doing, but he never had a plan.”
.......
"“I’ve always tried desperately to keep politics out of our program, and this summer I’ve failed miserably,” he said. “We don’t have a day that doesn’t pass where someone doesn’t call up and blame the president. Even from the South, I’ve heard more anger directed at the president than I thought.”But Danny O’Connor, the Franklin County recorder who in 2018 campaigned for Congress in the Columbus suburbs wearing an Ohio State polo shirt, saw things differently. He predicted before the season’s cancellation that Ohio State’s Buckeyes would finish the year undefeated.

Losing the season means that Mr. Biden will carry the state “because that will be one person’s fault: Donald Trump,” Mr. O’Connor said. Mr. Trump won Ohio by 9 percentage points in 2016.
Senator Sherrod Brown, an Ohio Democrat who has two master’s degrees from Ohio State, disagreed, saying that Mr. Trump will not be able to explain to voters why he’s not responsible.

“Everything that happens in this pandemic is on his watch,” Mr. Brown said Tuesday. “The unemployment’s on his watch, the canceled seasons are on his watch. I mean, all of this is on Trump’s watch, and he has so bungled this and he could point fingers and blame some elite somebody somewhere, but it’s on him.”

Trump's handling of the pandemic is akin to a blind cat in a cage with canaries..

end fracking will deliver Ohio AND Pennsylvania to Trump, and will overshadow Covid.

Lets see just how good a liar he really is. Or if he can keep track of which lie he has told to each demographic. Considering he can barely remember where he is or what office he is running for, somehow I doubt he will be able to keep his lies straight.

in less than 4 years. Your hypocrisy would be more amusing if it wasn't so predictable. And considering how you continually lie on this board, your mendacity is also predictable.

lie as expertly and as frequently as Trump and his minions.  Simply impossible!  How in the world, can any decent person, embrace a candidate who lies as ineptly and frequently as Trump?

Claiming to support Trump for his policies is getting weaker by the moment.  This inept, dishonest baboon, should be wearing on even the most hypnotized supporter.

Wake up.   Having someone as decent and honest as Biden running against the most dishonest president in our nation's history provides a very visual, very stark image.  AND there is NO comparison.  That is why Trump and his sycophants resort solely to insult and innuendo.

What else can Trump do?  Claim Trump was the first to suggest ingesting disinfectant to combat Covid?  Claim Trump took care of struggling Americans with 4 executive orders that do virtually nothing?  Claim Trump keeps all of his promises, like promising Mexico would pay for the wall?  Show Trump's strength by thwarting the first amendment rights of peaceful protestors, so Trump could have a hypocritical photo op with a bible, when he is the LEAST religious person on the planet?  There is so much more.  See how the sheer volume of Trump's idiocy has all Americans desensitized to Trump's insanity?

Trump has turned the state of our affairs into a bizarro world.  And through your support, you are complicit.  Congratulations!

about others lying! Accusation against Biden not withstanding.
Just go crawl back to your hiding place... under the bed ... CockDLeech is waiting for you!

And if you look at the states by conference, it seems to look how the election might go.
But the season will be cut short and then this will do in trump.

would end before November 3rd.  By he time anyone has a chance to become disgruntled about cutting the season short, the election will be over and Trump reelected.

Takes you to mid Oct...and then there's your October Surprise. Or all the stars would have been sick, or decide to opt out then you're fielding a flag football team.

with no personal attack, so if you feel stupid after your post, its on you.  College football rosters can have 125 Active players, so if they lose some, it hardly leaves a "flag" football team.

They let's say some star players start to get sick, then some team will need to be quarantined...See what happened to the Marlins (baseball incase you didn't know). And bow you can't field a team so now what?
Then players start to opt out and now you're left with a level 2-3 players and walk on. So you want to see a intramural team? How long will TV broadcast some unknowns with no start attractions? School presidents will sat fuck it.
And you only have 125 player, 85 on scholarship, 40 walk on....So my guess is if this kinda of football is what you want to watch, then who's the stupid one?

They were the most ravaged team in MLB but they are currently leading the NL East by a game with a record of 8 and 4.

Marlins have played 12 games, Braves have played 20. The standard if all went well on games played would be 19-20 games played. The Cardinals have only played 5 games. There's a 14 game difference in the games that will need to be made up by the Cards. MLB is only at the 1/3 part of a 60 game schedule. Baseball will make up some games with 7 inning doubleheaders but football...So you can see what can happen if this trend continues.
Football will have a 10 game schedule. Lets say a team gets quarantined for 2 weeks and misses 2 game, call it team "A". They finish the season at 7-1. Say team "B" completes their season and finishes 9-1 but team A beat team B head to head. Will team A be forced to finish the final two games and then take the season till mid Jan? They'll be alot of different scenario that could play out and questions to be asked, but you should get the ideal.
But the one thing about college and pro football is that the virus can spread very easily and will affect the most vulnerable. Look at your interior lineman. They're roughly 6'4-6'6, 320-340 lbs. This is not a normal weight for that size. The heart is working OT to sustain the weight plus they are on some kind of steroid just to maintain that weight. And one more thing, half of those player are Black, which this virus seems to affect the most. Can you imagine a goal line run up the middle? You'll have any where between 4-6 bodies piled on some 220lb running back at the bottom of the pile. No social distancing here...lol....And let's not even mention the huddle...
In college football your 4-5 star recruit may play a game or two but he'll look long term into his future and say that maybe he should just redshirt this season. Why chance lung and heart scarring for the rest of your life? And do you think some 18-20 kid is going to self discipline himself with the parties and nonsense that's going on?
College town USA which are in hot spots better get their act together if they want football
The pros will look at the financial side of all this and say it isn't worth it for now till we get a handle on this.
This is my sermon for the day......LEARN!

Years back, I was reading TSN (The Sporting News) or SI ... or maybe a non-sports (Atlantic? NYer?) article on sports / playoffs / World Series. Sports stats experts had done an analysis. Let's say that after 162 games, one League champ was .630 and the other League champ was .600.  In order to establish a STATISTICALLY MEANINGFUL difference between those two teams, they would have to play something like 40-50 games head-to-head. A best-of-7 playoff is statistically meaningless.
