I have never worked but for one company that was union.  The company cut my hours while I was pregnant, below what I needed to maintain my healthcare.  The Union representative come out and helped me personally, but it was ugly.  I had to roll people's hours with my seniority.  It was very stressful to hurt my co-workers, so my Dr. did write me out on a medical leave.  And I never went back to that job after my delivery.

I have worked for corporations that had huge, massive, layoffs, where Human Resources treated the "fired" like a number on a spreadsheet.  Everyone took anti-depressants because we were always on the verge of our livelihood disappearing.  And it was sad and scary seeing our co-workers being escorted out of the building, and just really seemed degrading to treat a human being that way.

I own my small business now, and just don't understand how either party could help me.  I believe I had the most peace in my life when the government was not in my business,  as an escort.  I think I am finding that I have always hated politics (in anything...church, NA, government), but would consider myself a Libertarian.  But it seems politics separates me, the news medias lie, and I am just really tired of the fear of my livelihood being snatched from me.

How has being a Democrat, Republican or Libertarian helped change your life?  Or what do you hope they will accomplish?  Maybe my post won't disappear this time.

but I feel better because, as a Democrat, I know I'm voting my principles and not my wallet.  I voted for Bill Clinton because I thought he was right on the issues, even though he'd promised to raise my taxes.  My wallet may be lighter but I sleep better at night.
That said, I don't fool myself that the Dems, or any party, are not part of the problem.  It's just that, corrupt as they may be, I find them less distasteful than the alternatives..

Issues of fiscal responsibility don't effect me much. Just have a crooked book keeper lol

Neither party helps me. I do find it offensive when redneck white-supremists call themselves republicans. Also, when jerkoffs like Jesse Jackson affiliates with the democrats.

I don't belong anywhere.

I take care of MY OWN and my wife takes care of(it seems lol) EVERYONE else

As an indépendant, I support policées I believe are right for the country. As pragmatist and a realist, I am able to through BS and funny math like balancing the budget is like balancing your check book, one can cut taxes, capital gains and balance the budget. Tax cut for the rich creates job and what not.

Also despise the slimy politicians pandering the word “American People” while they clearly not doing damn thing for the American People.
