The most that will vote to convict is 56. We need 67 (maybe 66). My guess is some of the Republicans that voted impeachment was constitutional will vote to acquit. Let's get back to Covid-19 relief.

Is this the best he got? Laughable ... sometimes he is making arguments that CUT against his client!!!!

This is a script written well in advance and I just refuse to get all caught up in it again. I'm waiting for any bombshells to come out that could make the outcome in doubt. But I don't expect any.

the fourth revival of a Broadway musical.   We know all the lyrics, so its not nearly as exciting as the first time we saw it.  I will watch the synopsis at night on cable news, but no way am I going to spend my day with this shit again.

According to Trump's own staff, they think his lawyers were a disaster today. They, especially Castor, were incoherent and nonsensical. The un-named Trump staffer said he's "fucked" if he can't ge better lawyers in future criminal trials. Trouble is, no one wants to work with him because he's a huge pain in the ass and also doesn't pay his legal fees. He and his legal efforts, starting with impeachment but not limited to it, are a hot mess.
Speculation is it was this horrible presentation that caused Cassidy (R) LA to vote in favor of continuing the trial. If this continues, who knows how many of his supporters will peel off. Though it could have been the Dems' powerful video presentation. I didn't see it but it was supposedly very powerful.
If I can find it on Google I'll put it up here.

That said, today's effort by Trump's lawyers was so disastrous -- with EVERY Republican Senator who has commented critical -- and the Dems so effective, there are some saying the whole thing is up in the air. Still, there's a long way to go so I'm not assuming a conviction. I'm also not assuming it's impossible.

It was because Trump's lawyers did such a poor job, while the Democrats made their case well. That does not, he made clear, mean he'll end up voting to convict, simply that the trial is Constitutional.
Other reports had Trump actually yelling at the TV about how bad his lawyers were.
WAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

This is a man who doesn't recognize the existence of Accounts Payable in his businesses.  What did he expect?

"Because we thought that the house managers presentation was well done." ROR!
