Calling a president a liar has become a political taboo as severe as the social taboo of incest.  As much as I admire and love Ronald Reagan, even he had his fair share of lies as has probably every other president in history.  So why are people on either side so damn offended these days when a president, whether it was Clinton then or Bush now, or any other president is called a liar.  
  Have we reached a point in the brainwashing cycle where most of you believe that a president simply is incapable of a lie??  Can someone please explain??

Some may see it as rude.  Others may not understand the hardball nature of politics.

I draw the line where the left compares the GOP to Nazis, the Patriot Act to living under a police state.  As if the yocals saying this actually have ever lived in Cuba, lived in East Germany, lived under Hitler, etc.  I find the left's comparisons of this nature to trivialize the millions and millions who died under Hitler, the 70 million that died under Stalin, the 50 million that died under Mao....you get the idea.   All for a fucking vote.

And to top it off, all of these regimes were _left_ wing governments...National Socialism and/or Communism.

National socialism and Fascism are usually seen as far RIGHT -althuogh it is their authoritarianism that is largely objectionable

Yes, they are usually seen as far right and it is a _huge_ (huge!) misconception.

Fascism can be either far left or far right.

National Socialism is fascism of the left as is communism.

What Bush is doing is throwing mud back that the left generated.  The Hitler clip is from a moveon.org contest**.  It is an abstract way of painting the left as "wild-eyed" as they are willing to go to the absurd level of comparing Bush to Hitler.  I think the ad (the Bush ad) myself is in poor taste, but I understand and know the clip comes from the left.  

What the left sews, it reaps.  

**Please spare me the diatribe that moveon.org had no control over who uploaded submissions to the contest and that moveon had _no_ way to vet their materiel.  After enough complaints, moveon got religion real quickly about the proper vetting of submissions.  It was a clever, if cynical, ploy to put out any material at all with a huge audience and if it went "Bad" (as the Hitler clip did), moveon could pull an Alfred E. Neuman and absolve themselves of all responsibility.  Slick.  Very slick.   To say they had no idea what would happen is to say that a well-oiled, well-funded (George Soros, anyone?), well-coordinated organization could make such a naiive, rookie move is disgenuine.
