Politics and Religion

A question for the "Righties"

I've noticed that many of you aren't big supporters of the Republicans.  A lot of you seem to view them as the lesser of two evils.  What political party or national politician best reflects who you think should be leading the country?

Please don't answer with a pundit.

because I DO support the Republicans. I don't always support them. Right now they are spending far too much money and growing government way too fast. Term limits would be the best thing to happen to American politics in my lifetime. It will require a Constitutional amendment though.

Right now, the biggest thinker in politics, among conservatives, is Newt Gingrich. I could support him for President.

My question below isn't a baiting question.  I assumed they had someone in mind.  Maybe they don't. We'll see.

Not real surprising that the righties can't come up with an answer on this one.

I am a big W. fan but I would like to go right of him for the next election. I get vety upset with his "triangualtion" on the domestic front.  He spends too much money trying to appease his critics and it doesn't make any difference to them.  A veto every now and then wouldn't hurt either.

I would love to see someone like Gingrich run.  The conventional wisdom seems to be that real conservatives can't win, but I've got to disagree.
Reagan (conservative)= two terms
Bush 41 (moderate) = one term
Bush 43 (conservative) = two terms.

You forgot Clinton.  Bubba was the most efficient Republican Prez we've ever had.

When "real" conservatives win, the American people as a whole, lose.

now before you come back with the clinton canard, your people have had almost 6 years now to deal with the immense fallout and degradation of the American way of life caused by Monica Lewinskys blow job.
So stop blaming Clinton for the egregious crimes committed by the Bush administration and their cronies in the Greedy Overbearing Party.

The hypocrisy of the right is heinous.
The flaccidity of the left is odious.
The invisibility of the moderates is shameful.

Its time for a new direction. and not a single damned person in Politics today, has a compass, let alone a clue.

they're sending people off to Iraq - both govt and private - and into banks and phone companies to go over records with microscopes, and it's really funny how people expect to get paid for this stuff.  Damn ingrate civil servants just aren't efficient enough, because they're not capitalists.   Let's hire some Mexicans, and throw a few of them in the street, that'll motivate the rest.

But the fundamental problem with this country is that people aren't doing things my way.  There are just not enough people kissing my ass.

Newt Gingrich is a real thinker.  Just give everybody a computer, that'll solve all the problems.   That idea is better than printing money to solve problems.

I'm curious about your characterization of W as a conservative. Is this because of his demonstrated fiscal conseravatism, religious funamentalism or total disregard for the Consititution?

spend too much money? I'm curious how they got this reputation as low spenders considering the legacies left by Reagan and now Shrub.

By the way, Newt resigned his seat in disgrace. I am not surprised that you admire him.

is what conservatives have done from Nixon to Reagan to Bush, I think it is now safe to assume that this is what conservatives do when they are in charge--namely lie, steal and shred the Constitution.

What was the disgrace?  He wrote a book and profited on it while in office.  Didn't a certain Senator from NY do the same thing and no one seemed to care?

Hey Bender, do you have anything worth while to add to this board other than your own bile?  If I made the kind of comments you did I would hide behind an alias too.
