on the same day that the DHS Inspector General testified to Congress that Mayorkas violated ethical standards. The visa scandal was related to Majorkas (now Biden’s DHS nominee) intervention on the behalf of high profile Democrats (Terry McCaullife, Ed Rednell, Harry Reid) who were pushing for special visas for their millionaire associates.

This scandal would have derailed Mayorkas’ nomination to DHS Deputy if not for Harry Reid invoking the nuclear option and eliminating the filibuster for confirmations.

Mayorkas gained high profile among Dems and favor with President Obama as the chief executive implementing the unconstitutional DACA program.

Unlikely he will be confirmed if either Loeffler or Perdue win their January runoffs down in Georgia.

The point is that Biden has been making mostly safe and comfortable picks, but with Mayorkas he’s chosen a true Obama swamp rat with a problematic and ethically challenged past.  At this point, the most likely nomination to run into troubled waters.

He was Deputy Director at DHS when the Obama Administration built the cages for minors and deported millions of undocumented migrants. The attached pic of kids in cages is from 2014. Ironic this pic was one of the viral images attributed to Trump policies by the liberal activists in the MSM.
