No trust us everything is going fine.  Schools are being rebuilt, and power is back on therefore all is good and well.  The only reason we are recalling troops from the N. Korean border and now the special reserves is to give them a few months vacation in Iraq.  You know, appreciation for their past service.  Iraq is such a safe place now due to the wonderful planning of Rumsfeld, Perle, and Feith that we have decided to send our own kids there for vacation.  No wait a minute, other peoples kids are expendable, not ours.  Oops, did we say that out loud:(
Read the part where now it is estimated a full 135,000 troop count will remain in Iraq through 05.  No but trust us things are going really well, we are going to keep 135,000 troops there throught 05 because, because, ummmmm, because, wellllllll, ummmmm, geeeeeee!!!!!
We will get back to you as soon as the rest of the neocons have a group huddle and we can come up with some more bull shit to throw at the stupid public.

we've got a radiation leak here...
With apologies to Han Solo

Wow- sending the 11th AC?  That is a sure sign of panic!

I knew these fucks would burn up the army--  and lo it came to pass!  If we had gone in with enough in the first place, and with lots of allies to handle the occupation and the admin- we would be ok now!

That's why real conservatives are jumping off the wagon right now!
too bad they sold their souls to the nutty Christos and can't get them back.

When is Letterman starting "Stupid American Tricks"?

There was a recent piece in the LA Times, indicating that a third of the Army is 'unfit to fight' but preparing to return to Iraq. The unfit divisions include the 101st, the 82nd Airborne and the 4th Infantry.

So let me get this straight, because I'm a little slow. Tell me again how George W. is being a strong supporter of the military.

It's great to hear all this concern, but where was it when you guys on the left were trying to f**k them over by throwing out their votes in Florida!

Gee, kinda forgot about that did you? I've yet to hear anyone on the left say this was wrong to do. So until you can be honest about your thoughts for the military quit this feign concern.

The plans for the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea, that is. The key word being "rotation". The Army's force rotation plan is superior to the individual replacement system that was used in Vietnam because it keeps whole units together, which is critical for maintaining unit cohesion in combat-arms units. It also allows units returning from deployment to regain combat readiness, which is what the LA Times article nicely details once you get past the sensationalized headline.

The unit that has been designated for rotation to Iraq is the 2nd Brigade (Strike Force) of the 2nd ID. They will be replacing the 3rd Brigade (Stryker), 2nd ID, which is already in Iraq. The 2nd Brigade is the Army's only Light / Heavy infantry brigade. In addition to Mech Infantry and Armor units, it includes two Air Assault battalions, 1/503rd and 1/506th Air Assault Regiments. I was unlucky enough to spend a winter along the DMZ serving in the 1/503rd in the late eighties. There are about 3,000 troops assigned to 2nd Brigade, out of a total force of ~30,000 throughout the ROK. Always liked the 2nd Brigade's motto, "Kill the Enemy!".
