[Excerpts]
The House Ethics Committee secretly voted earlier this month to release its report into the conduct of former Rep. Matt Gaetz before the end of this Congress, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the matter.

The report is now expected to be made public after the House’s final day of votes this year as lawmakers leave Washington for the holidays, those sources said.

The Ethics Committee’s report concludes a years-long probe into numerous allegations against Gaetz, including whether he engaged in sexual misconduct, used illicit drugs, “shared inappropriate images or videos on the House floor, misused state identification records, converted campaign funds to personal use, and/or accepted a bribe, improper gratuity, or impermissible gifts,” according to an announcement by the panel last summer.

“I’m going to be fighting for President Trump. I’m going to be doing whatever he asks of me, as I always have. But I think that eight years is probably enough time in the United States Congress,” he [Gaetz] said.

He [Gaetz] also recently announced that he will be joining One America News Network in January.

[End of Excerpts]
.
To those of you who would say it's no longer relevant, since Gaetz has already resigned from Congress, I say it's entirely relevant because it directly reflects on an individual's quality of leadership and good judgement to choose and promote those who would represent him and carry out his policies.

And Gaetz is a political figure. If you don't like the subject, go somewhere else, snowflake.
PS: This is all really about payback within the Republican House caucus, where Matt Gaetz is almost universally despised. And behind it all is the long and vengeful hand of Kevin McCarthy. As always, payback's a bitch.
Right, Fester?

…buying crack from Russian hookers and saved those videos on his laptop only to have said Russian hookers steal that laptop, which likely ended up in the hands of Russian intelligence? I don’t know what reminded me of that. The pardon maybe?

You must have skipped reading  . . .

Besides all the non-sexual allegations, I interpret "sexual misconduct" to include sexual relations with and sex trafficking of a minor. That may not bother you, but would 99% of men on this site.

What in the world is hypocritical about pointing out that your statement (we're all whoremongers here) had ANYTHING to do with discussing the report on Gaetz? Or the fact that this is a POLITICS board?
If Fester can't form a better rebuttal than calling me a hypocrite for demolishing his argument, perhaps he should find a more suitable place to post.

Hunter Biden is not and was not a member of Congress and no committee produced a report about his misdeeds.
So your analogy fails.

You're buried too far down in rightwing propaganda, conspiracies, and hate speech to be worth debating.

And there is some talk that DeSantis may want to run for the US Senate and that Gaetz would run for Gov of FL.
.
Some might think that Floridians would want to know about the character of their office seekers but it didn't seem to matter in their choice of Rick Scott, Senator (R-FL). Rick Scott is the wealthiest member of Congress (Net Worth ~$200M). He made a fortune as CEO of Columbia/HCA, a health care company. Under Scott's leadership, Columbia/HCA committed substantial Medicare and other financial fraud:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HCA_Healthcare#Medicare_billing_practices_lawsuit
"In 1997, with a federal investigation by the FBI, the IRS and the Department of Health and Human Services in its early stages, the Columbia/HCA board of directors forced Rick Scott to resign as chairman and CEO amid growing evidence that the company "had kept two sets of books, one to show the government and one with actual expenses listed." ...
.
"The federal probe culminated in 2003 with "the government receiving a total of over $2 billion in criminal fines and civil penalties for systematically defrauding federal health care programs."[56] Columbia/HCA pleaded guilty to 14 felonies and admitted to systematically overcharging the government. The federal probe has been referred to as the longest and costliest investigation for health-care fraud in U.S. history. ..."
.
"In July 2005, U.S. Senator Bill Frist (R-TN) sold all of his HCA shares, which were held in a blind trust, two weeks before disappointing earnings sent the stock on a 9-point plunge. At the time, Frist was considering a run for president and said that he had sold his shares to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest.[57] When the company disclosed that other executives had also sold their shares during that same time, shareholders alleged that the company had made false claims about its profits to drive up the price, which then fell when the company reported disappointing financial results. Eleven of HCA's senior officers were sued for accounting fraud and insider trading. ..."
.
Scott barely escaped accountability for the Medicare fraud because he was forced to resign before the charges were filed. I think that he claimed in interviews, after the fact, that he had no idea about the fraud -- a typical and prophetic Trumpian MAGA disavowal and rejection of accountability. 'Yeah, I was CEO but I'm not responsible!' kind of stuff.
