So on some statewide elections they keep pouring in national money hoping to flip state and federal houses and senates. It fails pretty often. Beyond a certain point, money doesn't move the needle.

Trump, OTOH, didn't waste a lot of money in CA or NY or MA, populous states he had zero chance of winning anyway.

Trump spent: $452/62.84 votes = ~$7.18 per vote
IF Trump had tried to win the popular vote by spending valuable resources in places like CA and NY and had lost the important vote, the vote of the Electoral College, you lefties would have laughed about what a political amateur he was and that he deserved to lose the election if he didn't understand the rules that have been in place since the 18th century.
