"On 5 February, President Donald Trump himself attacked Northam's abortion remarks during the State of the Union address, claiming the Virginia governor had "stated he would execute a baby after birth"." [And similar claims on other occasions.] [At the debate, Trump said, "They will take the life of a child in the eighth month, the ninth month and even after birth."]
.
"... Northam's remarks prompted an immediate backlash, with some right-leaning and pro-life observers claiming that he had expressed support for infanticide (i.e., the intentional killing of a child). ***President Trump, in his State of the Union address,*** went even further in stripping away the nuance and context from what Northam said and described the comments even more provocatively [and falsely] by claiming: "He [Northam] stated he would execute a baby after birth."
.
"***Northam certainly did **not** say that***, but the exact meaning of his remarks was unclear. The governor invoked a "particular example," but did not make it clear what the parameters of that example were. Was Northam describing a hypothetical scenario under current Virginia law, or under what would be the legal milieu if Tran's bill were passed? Did the example he used involve a fetus given a late diagnosis of disability or of a fatal condition, which meant the fetus was "non-viable" and could not survive even after being delivered alive? When Northam said the fetus would be "resuscitated if that's what the mother and family desired," was he saying he would, hypothetically, support a decision to allow the fetus to die by not providing life-extending medical intervention? What would be an acceptable outcome, in his view, to the "discussion" that would then take place between the woman and her physicians, and was Northam giving tacit support to a decision whereby a physician would withdraw life-extending care or take actions to intentionally end the life of the fetus?"
.
When anyone is on life support, an infant or an adult, there are laws in place regarding removal of that life support and for the patient or family to use a "DNR" (Do Not Resuscitate) order. It has NOTHING to do with abortion (which is a prenatal procedure). Family and physicians and religious advisors work very hard to make an always difficult decision regarding life support measures.

Neonatal End-of-Life Symptom Management
.
"In the United States, there are over 15,000 neonatal deaths each year. The majority of these deaths are the result of congenital malformations or chromosomal anomalies, with up to 3% of pregnancies being complicated by a fetal life-limiting diagnosis. While some families opt for a comfort measures approach to care at home, the majority of neonatal deaths occur in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Regardless of the location of care, most deaths, with some estimates as high as 80%, are the result of a comfort measures only approach to care or a redirection of care after a trial of therapy. ..."
.
From another study at one large center, NICU deaths, occurred, on average, 18 days after birth (from all causes).

Re: IMP lying his ass off.
“Trump claimed that Dem's favor abortions into the 9th month and POST birth!??! HOW MANY TIMES HAS THAT BEEN DEBUNKED? (EVERY time, except not by Biden.)”
My own former Governor Ralph Northam said it on a live call in radio show. What the fuck you mean debunked?
I’m getting a little fucking tired of Dems calling Trump a liar when he’s telling the goddamned truth.
READ WHAT TRUMP SAID. Or, if you prefer, find the video / audio of his speeches and interviews. It's always some variation of, "execute a baby after birth."
.
Trigger Warning. I'm about to make a mean comment about Trump and his family. There is some humor to it, but it is dark humor.

In the event that a member of Trump's family had to be put on life support (accident, illness, etc.), what decision would Trump make? "Insurance doesn't cover everything??? How much is this costing ME??!!! ... $10,000 per DAY?!!!??? PULL THE PLUG! PULL THE PLUG!!! PULL IT NOW!!!"
