The 17 states whose attorneys general signed the letter to get Craigslist to drop Adult Services section are: Arkansas, Connecticut, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

If CNN placed an add on TER people would call for a session. Do you think ter would shut down because of bad press?  CL could host their erotic content servers offshore and be immune to asshole sex police but instead they roll over like worms.

Craigslist's operating model? First, they just don't have the legal resources like a Microsoft, Oracle, Google to fund an ongoing fight. Second, they ought to run their company in a for profit mode and learn how to monetize their assets.

Craigslist's adult section is probably less than 1% of its total ads. Let's assume they lost a revenue source. What choices do they have? They can take on the various Attorney Generals, which will financially suck them dry, or they can become a real company and find new sources of revenue.

Let's don't get all pollyanna now.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and YMMV as far as performance goes.
