Chinese small business networks; amps and buffets

Am I the only one who thinks there’s more than a chance that most amps and restaurants in this country are funneling money back to either the Chicoms or Chinese organized crime?  In both industries, it seems one can enter either of these two businesses and the consistency and method of operation rival McDonald’s.  Pricing, staffing, menus etc,  it’s like giant chises chickens are walking the country dropping massage parlors and buffet restaurants out as fast as they can.  I’m in northern MN in a small city of 12,000 and we have 5 Ossian buffets and 4 amps.  Every one is the same!

immigrant entrepreneurs who own AMP's and never got even a hint that any of them are funneling money to the government, but many are doing so well they send money back to their families, just like Mexican immigrants do.

Chinese buffets are a way to scam other businesses, so there MAY be a government connection, but I doubt it.  The business model doesn't really work in the U.S. unless they flout the health codes, so they go about 15 months, racking up a million dollars in vendor debt, then sell the business to a third party, who then starts the process all over again, leaving a new set of vendors holding the bag 15 months later.

There have been some stereotypes and immigrant businesses:
Chinese restaurants
Indian (dots, not feathers) thrift stores
Vietnamese nail salons
Korean sushi restaurants
Mexican bodegas
Thai tailor shops
Brazilian tapas bars (bring plenty of singles to tip the staff!)
Haitian barber shops
.
When you are a new arrival, you tend to get help from fellow countrymen settlers. You speak the same language, share cultural values and experiences that affect the choice of business or how to operate a business.
.
Once there is ONE "ethnicity-E" "business-B", the owner teaches others exactly how it works:
- which permits do you need
- which suppliers to use
- which products are the best to buy / use
- what advertising works in a given community
all speaking the same lingual, intellectual, emotional AND business language.
Etc.
.
There is less help for someone who wants to buck the trend: "I don't want to open a barber shop. I want to be a ... LUMBERJACK!"  "Sorry, there's no one among us who can help you.  You're on your own. Or find a friendly Canadian to give you advice ... if you can even speak Canadian."
