CIA sends heavily redacted WMD report to Senate ------------------------------------------------- From Steve Turnham and David Ensor CNN Washington Bureau Tuesday, June 15, 2004 7:50 PM EDT
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Members of the Senate Intelligence Committee investigating prewar Iraq intelligence expressed displeasure Tuesday with CIA efforts to keep large parts of the committee's report secret. {You can read the rest in Link at Bottom}

Also Snowman39, please go back to your thread, you never responded to FACTS / LINKS / PHOTO's that all say something slightly different than you tried to assert, not only about the WMD story but also your "Latest polls show 60% support the fact that we went into Iraq" post within that thread.
Check back one page, I showed you the proof for the 60% as well as where your article actually backed the theory proposed by the one I linked.
And of course they want to keep parts of the report secret. A lot of the intelligence is still classified and the quickest way to get it into the general public's hands is to give it to Congress.
COME ON, can't you do any better than this? You're just boring me with these weak challenges...
Uh, and you are? I think we are all pretty raw at this.
And those numbers are dropping.... every week.
Since I was OK with the war, I can't really cast aspersions too far, but the WMD failure is HUGE! And the Admin's continued misstatements aren't helping.
Remember that the spanish electorate did not toss their govt for its actions in Iraq or the simple fact of the Madrid Bombing. They tossed them for perceived lying about Iraq policy and the reasons for it and the source of the bombing.
The coverup is usually more destructive than the action. WaterGate, IranGate, you'd think the GOP would have figured this stuff out.
As far as who is a good debater, I would suggest this is a matter of degree. I doubt any of us could "run with the big dogs" on capital hill, but at the same time, I would venture many on this board would do very well against the average person.
As far as comparing us to the Spanish, don't... We have the exact opposite philosophy here where we tend to support the POTUS even more of times of crisis.
The WMD debate will continue. Bottom line, even if there were no WMD's, the best intelligence we had at the time from the CIA (and the Clinton appointed head of it) was that they existed. British and UN intelligence also agreed and Clinton said they had them in 98 and Kerry backed him on it. Did he act on bad intelligence, possibly, but to damn him becuse he got bad intel is just silly. If you're really pissed, blame Jimmy Carter and the Democratically controlled congress from the 70's when they totally gutted our intelligence agencies...
