The stripper index is a term, when applied in NYC strip club circles, that ties national economic performance to the amount of tips that finance guys in the clubs either are or aren’t tipping. @botticellibimbo, an NYC dancer, has written about it. She also escorts under the Layla Sloan moniker.
i didn’t invent the stripper index, but i did make it a colloquially mainstream phrase. the concept has existed within the community for years and i referenced that in the original thread. BUT put that shit on my tombstone bc to this day a tweet i made in summer 2022 gets quoted

in the financial markets rather than sources that are anecdotal or coincidental.  ("Oh, look, strippers guessed the direction of the markets!")  The markets believe Trump that the inconveniences of the war are temporary and are responding accordingly.  If it drags on for more than another two to three weeks, things COULD turn negative for the economy.

is to say if Trump doesn't finish the Iran War in a way that signals a clear victory for the U.S., there could be a recession, but I still think the markets being so strong indicates confidence that it will be over within a few weeks.  If you think I'm wrong, in two weeks, ask me again.  Lol
