Politics and Religion board, and we haven't had a good discussion on Religion. So, let's dip our collective toes in the holy water.

Bigpapasan's thread on Romney made me remember that the only Roman Catholic president was John F. Kennedy. The only other presidential ticket nominee , ever, was John Kerry. Kerry obviously lost.

Roman Catholics are the largest collective group of religious voters in the country. Yet, we have not had a Catholic president before or after Kennedy. Catholics make-up roughly 1/4 of the electorate. Protestant/Baptist/etc make up roughly 50% of the electorate. If Catholics voted together, it would change elections, but they don't.

Interestingly enough, white conservative religious came out overwhelmingly for the three time divorced Donald Trump. Go figure.

I've been a Catholic all my life.
Not since Kennedy has the Catholic Church told people how to vote.
And when he was elected the general public went around screaming that the pope would be running the country
As a twice deployed VN vet Kerry was a POS, in my opinion.
As for Christians voting as a bloc, they did last presidential election
The lesser of two evils.

...Maybe they were praying for God to call Trump home.
