This seems like a pretty naive idea to me, so I'm not surprised to see you like it.  Maddy, you seem like a very nice lady but you are without a doubt one of the most naive people I've ever come across.
I think to get a gun license you should have to do what I did: have a thorough background check to ensure you have no outstanding warrants or convictions that would disqualify you from gun ownership.  I also had to have four of my neighbors write character references for me.

Canadians have this all wrong. So an Ex is going to grant a waiver so her ex can carry a gun and maybe use it on her? What if she doesn't grant him with waiver, he finds out she rolled him over and the next thing you know, he goes machete on her....She'd wished he had used a gun. Nah, this ideal sucks...sorry
