1. Gas under $3 a gallon - means nothing.

2. New home construction is up 12.1% - banks want to earn money.

3. The economy would grow even faster. Are you now pro-growth?

How do you expect the economy to grow, with out a new gimmick?

Also what period in time do you expect the economy to resemble, pre tech bubble, pre housing bubble?

Righties whine that Obama "destroyed the economy" and yet, gas in under $3 a gallon here in Vegas.

Also, in my paper today, it says new home construction is up 12.1% and at the fastest pace in over 4 years.

Sure doesn't sound "destroyed" to me.

If the Righties would stop putting their loyalty to their own Party ahead of their loyalty to America, the economy would grow even faster.

But President Obama could get unemployment to 5%; close the entire deficit, get peace in the Middle East, fix the NFL's concussion problems and get the DOW to 36,000 and the right wing nut jobs would still hate him.  As a Republican, what I've seen over the years is a shift from what we used to stand for to a new group that claims everything was better "back then" and that whatever the Democrats want to do, we want the opposite, no matter what.  If the Democrats say the sky is blue, we need to argue and disagree with all our heart because we can not agree or be seen agreeing with them and THEIR President.  That partisanship has really hurt America - but it's been great for Faux News.
Although I don't agree with some of his Policies, he is still the President of the United States.  I respect the office.  I understand it was a mess he walked into - I live in an area that the housing bubble killed.  I understand that Clinton left a $200 billion surplus and that W cut taxes, spent on unnecessary wars and took that surplus into a $1.2 trillion deficit that's been growing ever since.  I understand that Reagan doubled the deficit in much the same way (tax cuts and defense spending).  I understand that up until this point, most of what President Obama has done has been spending cuts.  He hasn't been perfect (who is? - if you say Regan you're living in a dream world), and he hasn't done the best job; but I can live with what he's done and is trying to do because to me it's simple - 1) I don't think I could do that job and 2) we were on the verge of a collapse and somehow didn't get stuck in a 15 year funk.
Now, you may say "we're still in a funk! It's HIS fault!".  Fine, you'll never be convinced otherwise.  Consider that under this President, the Koch brothers have made more money than they have under any President, and people like Sheldon Adelson have made $17 billion in the short time Obama has been in office.  This tells me there's money being made, it's just not "trickling down" like the GOP likes to talk about.  Obama is trying to fix the nation's revenue problem and wealth distribution.  He's not trying to take away your hard earned money.  He's asking that those who can pay a little more - for the better of the country.  That will help us pay the bills the GOP racked up.  If you actually look over the last few years, in essence what we have is the GOP running up a credit card (the wars and pork) bill after quitting their FT job (cutting taxes/revenue) and then blaming the poor and demanding the poorest of Americans pay for it.  We do have a spending problem.  The Republicans are the spending problem.  They spend on wars.  They spend on defense contracts that aren't needed.  They spend on corn and oil subsidies.  The reddest states are also the states that take in more money than they pay into the federal government.  I have never heard any one say "I'd rather pay only 30% in taxes on $50,000 rather than pay 39% on $250,000".  Taxes don't keep people from trying to prosper.  It's the stupidest argument the GOP has ever come up with. The economy is on it's way up - and it's a good thing that moron Willard didn't win.  He and his cronies would've crashed the whole damn thing.
I grew up thinking the mythical welfare queen was our problem.  I grew up hearing about illegal immigrants taking jobs.  Then I moved to this area.  I worked with the poor.  I saw they weren't what the GOP made them out to be.  I saw how American's don't want the jobs the illegals do.  A few years ago, after basically running the illegals out with a fear campaign, the farmers in the south had no laborers to pick their product.  Hundreds of Americans came - and left after a day or less because they couldn't handle the work.  I've yet to drive by a field and see an army of "Americans" picking lettuce or cabbage.
I am way off tangent now - so let me summarize - the hard core righties will never accept Obama even if he does everything perfectly.  They can't because they need to keep selling fear - it's all they have.  The GOP doesn't understand the new America.  They still think it's 1950 - and Faux news helps push that agenda.  Someday, history will recognize all that has been done.  But in the mean time, I can only hope more people will start using their brains and not just be "liberal" or "conservative"; but rather, be American.  It's not going to happen, I'm going to get ripped and called a RINO, but I don't care.  I can dream that one day we'll be united again.

I have an idea. Why don't the middle and lower class show their patriotism and pay taxe rates like they did under Clinton just like the rich are required to do now?

Posted By: Laffy
Supporting things like the Infrastructure Bank.

All the experts say it's great and MANY Righties think it's a GREAT idea.  But the Righties in Congress REFUSE to vote for it because if it helps the country, which it will, they'll have to admit Obama isn't the complete failure they've been whining about for 4 years.

Also, you could "buy American" and pay a little more instead of all the cheap, and often worthless, shit from China it would add millions of jobs here.

Instead of 5 TV's in your house, have 4.  Kids do not need TV's in their bedrooms......in fact, they shouldn't have them.

Chasing the "lowest price" only  fucks us in the long term.....same with our food.

High gas prices were because Bush was in bed with big oil and Cheney was on the board of Haliburton...

At least that's what your fellow comrades used to say.

Get back to me when d]gas is $1.90/gal. that is the price it was when your lord and savior took office in 2009.

Thanks to obama fucking up the economy a thousand times more than when he took office Jeep is moving manufacturing to China.

Obama has not met with his jobs council in over a year , so do not tell us he gives a shit about the unemployed.

Oh yeah and the tax increase for the rich, well obama lied about that too, taxes have gone up for all income earners, but you would not know about that because taxes are not deducted from your welfare, food stamps, and all the other hand outs you collect.

Talk  about loyalty, get a job traitor.

You’re welcome

I think higher prices are a sign of recovery because that means there is more demand for products and services.

As always you are wrong again.

Do not you get tired of always fucking-up and making a fool out of yourself?

Unlike you I am employed and was away on business for a few weeks.
You should really get a job and contribute to society instead of being a leech on society by collecting welfare, food stamps and other hand outs like all your sissy boy leftie friends.
Since you are not very intelligent I suppose obama’s job council could get you a job mopping floors and cleaning up the puke and piss of little kids at burger king or some such place.

I doubt you will ever change you’ll always be a cowardly, sissy-boy and leech.

I see you have been busy throwing insults and not contributing to the board, just more proof you totally lack any intelligence

You’re Welcome

LMAO did you forget about the summer before that gas was over $4/gallon?

Gas came down during that period because of the crash, lack of demand, and the value of the dollar compared to other currencies.
