Obama has lost his edge, and now must seriously seek the general electorate.  but how much ground does he have to make up... and IS the Bradley effect in play - and if so - how much....

Dudes... you are all so wise... weigh in...

I'd like to think that peoples attitudes about race have improved somewhat over the last 20 or so years, but who knows.  You have a whole new generation of voters coming out.  They may skew the outcome one way or the other.

I have always felt that no matter what voters tell the pollsters, a large number of voters just can't bring themselves to vote for a black candidate.  There is a long history of affirmation action, court ordered quota hiring and the bad attitude many blacks have towards whites that cause people to feel they can't trust blacks. Almost everyone has either been directly adversely affected by affirmation action or court ordered quota hiring or knows someone who has.

No man would want my job..Horse shit shoveler..

the only way I can afford providers is the bonus money I get from Cheney for posting on this board..

As I have often said, polls are irrelevant until the last few weeks prior to the election itself.
Anything can happen to cause a dramatic shift in the polls.

Conspiracy theorists have expounded on an "October Surprise" being planned by the Rovian Hordes. That would sure tilt the axis wouldn't it?

News of an Obama / Osama summit meet n greet would certainly change the dynamics, and even the most diehard Obamaniacs would have to give pause.

The election is in November. Its going to be a very long hard and vicious fight.
The Swiftboating of 2004 will seem like an overnighter with Nikki Avalon compared to 2008.

I just wish we could get past all this bullshit and focus on the issues instead. Until we do, I am still voting for None of the Above.

... oh wait... man, I misunderstood your question entirely, dude! Talk about being baked!

Racism and Misogyny, two very loathsome concepts, will be front and center for the next few months. We as a nation will be judged by the way we treat them.

In Obambi's case, blacks voted overwhelmingly for him alarming whites and other minorities. Obambi and his surrogates used the race card when it was beneficial and turned even against Bill and Hillary.

Suppose, like Reverend wright said, "chickens are coming home to roost"

Bradly effect was there all along and CNN, MSNBC, NY Times, Washington Post and Daily KOS decided they are going to overcome it. Then again, they may not have realized it in their anointed candidates euphoria.

You can take the wisest guy in the World and brainwash him and you have a shell of what was desired.  I'm just a dumb ass that doesn't fall for the bull..
Obama will definitely keep plummetting as long as the empty attacks on Palin continue..
The media ,and Obamas camp are merely sending independents to Mccain and they are energizing the far right more than I can speculate.

white votes than it will take away. Many people who are voting for him hope it will wash out the stain of slavery. But that stain can't be washed away. It happened, slavery was horrible, and the aftermath was better but still awful for black people. But blood of 600,000 men couldn't wash it away and a black president won't, either.

That's the hidden "hope" in the Obama message that people are responding to. The hope that the past can be fixed. If voting for Obama could fix the racial history in this country, I'd get a blanket and some water and go park my self outside the voting booth to be 1st in line. But I don't think the first A-A president should be an A-A president and that is what Obama would be because he is utterly unqualified. By AA I don't mean the airline or the alkys, I mean African American and Affirmative Action. Sorry to get serious, maybe it is the date.
