And now for something completely different: A bad Governor: Quinn

It takes a really bad governor to be bad in Illinois.  Its no easy task here, since most of our past Governors go to prison.  But within the last week, Illinois' current Governor's signature has abolish the death penalty and passed a bill to collect online sales tax.  Clearly he does not intend to run for re-election, so any guesses what he'll do next?  I'm thinking he will released a percentage of the prison population early.  Plus find other ways to tax.  At least until he retires and hopefully spends the rest of his life trying hard not to drop the soap.

for life over the cost of keeping them and ultimately executing them, isn't that a budget issue?

Though I agree there is also statistical info claiming there is a cost savings to imprison.  I don't think this is being done to save money ultimately.  I think Quinn lacks the testicular fortitude to be the Governor responsible for executions.  Its a another way of running away.

In regards to the new internet taxes, there are already laws for that but they are unenforced.  This is one more law that will be unenforced.

No budget issue has been addressed yet.

First, google "Cost of life imprisonment vs. the death penalty and see what you get!

The governor only signed those laws. How about the legislators who wrote them. Seems like you're scapegoating the governor!
