1,836 Americans died in New Orleans after Katrina, in a city of 455,000. That's more than half who died on 9/11.

The death toll so far from Sandy has been less than 100, and this is in the most densely populated place in the country. NYC alone has 8.5 million people.

That's the difference you get with real leadership. It literally saves thousands of lives.

I have been in many protests in my day, and I can tell you first hand, that it's quite easy for wide spread confusion to happen. I have seen police set off percussion grenades to disperse people, but people get confused about where the sound is coming from and end up charging the police line by mistake.

What kind of magical world do you live in? Is it a world where no one's ever died during a soccer riot? That no cars ever gets destroyed when the hometown wins the Superbowl? That mass confusion is impossible when it's half way across the globe?

Where is Cuomo, Bloomberg, and I guess it's Con-Ed?

Up until about an hour ago bloomberg was too fucking busy getting ready for the NYC marathon.
Because of public pressure and the out cry of millions he canceled it.

Now bloomberg is out making sure that relief agencies do not give anyone more than a 16oz. sugary drink.

I believe it was Cuomo who got the Army Corps of Engineers to help pump out the subway system and the tunnels (Brooklyn Battery Tunnel & Queens Mid-Town Tunnel ...not sure if ther is another one).
That is about the only helpp from the feds so far.

as for con-ed I'm sure they are working their asses off, along with utility company crews from outside NY that were pre-positioned by the state and con-ed.

As for long Island, I doubt obama even knows where it is . So other than their utility crews and the out of state crews they are on their own.

Industry looks to be doing the most, industry has the most lose they're losing money. Like usual the workers the line men are the most important part of the equasion.
