So they stuck to their hits. "Glory Days," "Thunder Road" and "Born to Run" by Bruce. And Billy's "Allentown," "Movin' Out" and others.

Joel admitted he weighed the decision about publicly backing Obama. "I'm popping my cherry with this endorsement," he told us.

Springsteen told the crowd that "for a long time, I never saw myself as part of any political party. [Now] many Americans have seen the value of their homes and their retirement funds plummet.

"I believe Sen. Obama understands these issues and that he's taken a measure of that distance in his life and work."

After singing along to "Spirit in the Night," Obama confessed that he had told his wife, Michelle, that the real reason "I'm running for President is that I cannot be Bruce Springsteen [or] Billy Joel." The senator then fired up supporters with "one of my greatest hits," his stirring story about a lady he met in Greenwood, S.C.

P.S.: The concert, orchestrated by Harvey Weinstein, John Sykes and Anna Wintour, was recorded. Word is Obama will have a screening as a reward for his campaign staff.

Now he's just a shill for the left.

Just because his political preference differs from yours makes him a "shill for the left" ...

That's another confirmation (as if we need more) of the intolerance coming from the McCain crowd ...

If someone differs they are branded with a variety of tags  ...

What's that Palin says, the "real" Americans??

Typical left wing nut.  And you're saying he's not a shill for the left after he did a concert for Obama?  LMAO.  You are so blinded by your partisanship you're beginning to look like your counterparts on the right.

You may want to look up some of the words you use BEFORE you use them.

Definition: "A shill is an associate of a person selling goods or services or a political group, who pretends no association to the seller/group and assumes the air of an enthusiastic customer"

Springteen has the right to his political opinion & he has a right to garner support for it.  No different than Hank Williams Jr., singing on the stage for McCain.  Are you calling Hank Williams Jr. a shill?

As far as "reactionary, it's ironic that the definition is tailor-made for you:

re·ac·tion·ar·y    –adjective 1. of, pertaining to, marked by, or favoring reaction, esp. extreme conservatism or rightism in politics; opposing political or social change.

(I think your picture is posted alongside the definition) LMAO

I shouldn't have called you reactionary, and shill is the wrong word too. LOL.

I'm just sick and tired of Hollywood types trying to tell the public that they know more than we do.  Their opinion is no more or less informed than ours.  They use their status as a bully pulpit to spout anything they want and expect the masses to lick it up.  Do they have the right? Hell yes.  Do I need to buy their next album? No.

BTW:  Do you really think he has produced any good music since the 80's?

I agree that entertainers' opinions are given more coverage than is necessary.  But that's showbiz for you.

(I'm not a Billy Joel fan, & not so much of a Springsteen fan either ... go figure, LOL)
