She's bright but the best she's done is a credible loss in a Senate race. She has no national name recognition. The VP will most likely come from someone who made a decent showing in the primaries and represents an important electoral swing state.

It's not her intelligence that is a concern. She is plenty smart enough. It is her inexperience and the fact she is not a household name. We also have to consider Biden's age in all of this. She would be a heart beat away from the presidency, and I fear too many moderates, swing voters and independents would feel too uncomfortable with that thought.
I just don't want anyone to weigh Biden's chances down in the general. I just think Harris gives people much more confidence that she is 'Potus worthy' on day one, should something happen to Biden, God forbid.

With all of Pence's utterly annoying thumper thoughts, he WAS in the House for 12 years and the Governor of Indiana. Everyone knew who Mike Pence was who followed politics even a little. And those that might not have, he LOOKED presidential to them, and was measured and reassuring to many, at least in speech, manner and appearance, as opposed to Trump's maniacal, fury and rage all the time. hehe
Don't fall into the trap of age old, tired, electoral strategies. Georgia is almost certainly a Trump state this year. Look at it this way Laffy. We couldn't win that state with her on top of the ticket. Why would we win it in with her in a subordinate role?
No, let's be smart. We need to put our money and our efforts into the upper Midwest/rust belt, as that is where the election will be won or lost, not places like Georgia or Arizona, and lets not scare off anyone with a novice like Abrams, when we can have a more polished and more experienced VP candidate in Harris.
I will end on this. Indiana wasn't a swing state either and who won the 2016 election?

how he'll heel the partsian divide that exists today......McConnell is a rabid ideologue who last exhibited bi-partsianship around 1983... (hopefully Amy McGrath will defeat this despicable creature in Nov)......

Right wing radio & social media are the main causes of the irreparable partsian divide in this country and you see it in the House & Senate candiates who have only drifted further and further right, just in the last decade or so....The GOP is not interested in compromise of any kind, only dividing and conquering.....Hence the adage  "Democrats want to govern, Republicans want to rule".....

Unless Joe Biden has invented a time machine, he needs to quit longing for the days of yesteryear when Democrats and Republicans existed in peace & harmony, that time has past.....The senate he was a part of in the late 1970's and 1980's exists only in a History Channel special......I do wish it wasn't like this and that working across the aisle was possible, but it's not.....

As far as potential VP choices if Biden is the nominee, I'd rather it be Kamala Harris...I wish Stacey Abrams would run for Georgia senate, (and Steve Bullock would run for senate in Montana)....A President Biden, President Sanders, etc. will get NOTHING accomplished unless Democrats have control of the senate..

And off topic, but I'm glad to hear Michael Bloombeg will spend some of his fortune on defeating the current president, even if he's not the Democratic nominee...

Fun, huh? LOL

The DNC won't be calling Laffy ANYTIME soon for advice. What a dope.

Obviously you are, and gulp, Nick, and double gulp, Moose is correct in NOT wanting Abrams running with good ol' Plagiarizin' Joe.

She is THE choice for the Dim ticket...if REPUBLICANS were asked how best to sabotage it. LOL

And I can't stop laughing about Georgia! If there is a God in heaven above, PLEASE put Abrams on the ticket and PLEASE let them spend tons of $ in GA and AZ.

“I think that, uh, the behavior of this administration has awakened, uh, a whole new generation to get engaged in ways that they may not have gotten before,” Biden said, referring to President Donald Trump and the current tumult. “Just like in my generation, when I got out of school that, uh, when Bobby Kennedy and Dr. King had been assassinated in the ‘70s, uh, late seven — when I got engaged, um, you know, up to that time, remember the, none of you women will know this, but a couple men may remember, that was a time in the early, late ‘60s, and the early ‘60s and ‘60s, where it was drop out and go to Haight-Ashbury, don’t get engaged, don’t trust anybody over 30. I mean, for real. What happened to them, by the, by the early ‘70s, the late ‘60s, there was a whole generation that said, ‘Enough.’ The war in Vietnam was under way, and it was — a lot of you served in that war — and, uh, we were fighting like the devil to make sure that there was something dealing with cleaning up the environment, which was only beginning. We were in a position where the women’s movement was just beginning to move. We should have, by now, long before, passed the ERA amendment, but that was another issue …”

"Mr. Biden, what you just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response, were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."
