As he said, this will help in preventing wrongful convictions. He also said that he will send to Congress a proposal to fund special training of defense counsel in death penalty cases.
I think that deep down inside, George Bush knows that when he was governor of Texas, he may have sent innocent people to their deaths.
I'm sure that some large company makes that equipment has contributed money to Bush. Now Bush is trying to encourage law enforcement departments across the country to use this equipment. Isn’t that the way it always is with Bush?
Based on the previous four years, this is more lip service from Bush. Let's wait until he actually funds some of these programs before giving him any credit.
Funny, you guys are going thru the same thing that I did with Clinton. After Clinton was re-elected, even though I grudgingly voted for him, I basically interpreted everything he did to be pandering to vested interests instead of perhaps doing what 2nd term President often do - what they think is right. It wasn't until several years later that I started feeling better about my vote - because he delivered the goods in some ways (and I didn't really care about the scandals as long as the Dems didn't hold the Reps to any higher standard - e.g., Clinton and Bush both were draft dodgers and so were alot of Ivy League kids back then).
I'm not saying I can guarantee Bush will deliver on all these things, but he starts off doing only what he can - expressing a policy that you all support. And what does he get but claims he's up to no good or bullshitting.
Jeez, you have to live with him as your President. Give the guy a break.
and in so doing, the American public demonstrated in 2004, it is unfit to carry out the Democratic process. Which is why I am no longer living int the U.S. It is out of shame and disgust for the folks who chose to keep Bush in the White House.
So, as with others who hate Bush, you imply that those who supported him are wrong, or somehow inferior to you.
The voters validated the Democratic process by exercising their rights and making their choice. In a fit of childish rage, you decided to take your toys and go play elsewhere. Now, you post elsewhere about some BS higher morality that you have being a citizen of the world, and trying to lecture how free speech isn't just an American value.
I've got news for you quitter, if you've actualyy gone forward and surrendered your US citizenship (which I highly doubt) then YOU have no rights to condemn America or Americans. As a citizen, YOU bore an obligation to support the Democtraic process. You didn't win, you quit. You betrayed the ideals that men fought and died for starting in 1776.
Personally, I believe this nation is better without your presence and I feel certain that your turning tail and running away because you didn't get your way will not benefit you in the least.
In fact, he's killed an order of magnitude more innocent people in Iraq than Osama Bin Laden has murdered in his entire life.
I also hated Pol Pot, Hitler, and Moussolini. Only I don't know anyone who actually voted for those folks AFTER they had already killed tens of thousands of innocent people.
Or, since MOST of these folks (although, not 1400+ U.S. service personal) were Iraqis, I guess you're OK with it. I'm not. Mass Murder is Mass Murder. And I take special offense when it is done in MY name. Which is why I left. Period. To make it damn clear that I personally don't endorse it. Anyone who supports Bush's Iraq war is simply countenancing mass murder for political purposes.
