I thought in the beginning she did extremely well and almost thought she was going to have Biden flustered (didn't happen; he's definitely a seasoned debater)... But throughout the debate I couldn't help, but to think about the thought of her as President or even Vice President wasn't where I thought her skills/knowledge was most useful...
Could definitely see her as Press Secretary, and thats even a maybe (I do find her personality charming and honestly hilarious; I was lmao when she said, "There you go again Joe.")... Equally Biden is charming atleast to me (I'd give Biden some of my Ebony Crem'e Fresh, lol; also I'd love to do Palin with my strap on; don't worry I'm an equal opportunist
Not to downgrade Alaska, but come on major cities have a larger population and more responsibilities than the state (tiny bit of an exaggeration, lol, but not too far off)... She's far less experienced for the position she is running for than Obama is for the position he's running for...
Atleast Obama has a track record of excellence and achievement on 10: Once In A Lifetime type proportions... I don't think Mccain would be a bad president atleast I couldn't imagine him being as bad as Bush and I damn sure can't see Obama/Biden being as bad as Bush... Rather I see Obama/Biden being a lot like Clinton/Gore accept they will do more/be more proactive/productive... Mccain is too old and still not prudent/wise there is a strong chance that he will tank or develop alzheimer's and start doodling/drawing cartoons like Reagan eventually did...
Lastly I expect harsh responses... I still don't understand why guys are putting out Aliases when providers aren't doing such a thing... I would think I have more to lose by showing my real name then ya'll; stop being pussies and take off the masks, ...
This message has been approved by CC for the sake of stiff rhetoric and arguement only on the boards I'm a sweet heart in the bed (no worries)...
Should she really

In fact, I agree with everything you said.
is the Chief Executive Officer of a State with a $15 Billion Dollar budget. She has been doing a darn good job. I've worked in Alaska, and I got to tell you there was a lot of corrupt politics.
As CEO of STate your in charge of the OIL Commission, state parks, the National Guard, you have to deal with unions, efforcing state regulatory agencies such as Consumer Affairs, fisheries, Highway, State Police, OSHA, EPA, etc. ThaT IS A big job.
I love she was a mayor of small town. In a small town you have to deal zoning issues, school boards, potholes, snow removal, and the everyday issues you and I have.
BIden on the other hand being in the US Senate for all his adult career shows such an unchallenged life. Imean really what has he accomplished. What is his claim to fame? What is Obama's claim to fame. Both Biden and Obama have not lead a business, a city, a state or a unit in the US ARMED FORCES.
CEO of a state -- no such position
In charge of Oil Commission -- doing what in 18 months?
State parks -- doing what in 18 months?
National Guard -- doing NOTHING in 18 months
Unions -- how?
enforcing regulatory agencies -- wrong job
Mayor -- I could not have less respect for that
You still have not told us the position you hold that is in so much higher esteem then Palin .
I'm not running for office this election cycle, so why would it matter to you?
You just are so critical of Palin and seem to think you are better then her.
Palin has more executive experience then Obama has ever had or Biden and concerning federal law probably has a better understanding then the community organizer even though he has a Harvard law degree.
Actually given the multitude of federal laws that impact state fiscal matters from highway funding to health care to food stamps to welfare and a hell of a lot more in between a governor would have to more conversant with federal laws than the average federal senator.

course. Generally, the Governor of State has a multitude of departments underneath his/her command. Each of these departments are considered an employer. The Governor is a Chief Executive Officer for each of these state departments. Under Palin's leadership:
(1) She stopped the windfall tax that was given to oil companies. Biden even mentioned this in the debate. Were you listening?
(2) She negotiated a $30 Billion construction of Natural Gas Pipeline.
(3) The State Parks expanded under her leadership, The Chugach State Park is now the biggest State Park in the United States,
(4) She is charge of the Alaskan Railroad. The railroad has new investment now on signalling systems and rolling stock. Her plan is to eventually double-track the system to Seward.
(5) She visited the troops in Kuwait. That is more than Obama ever did.
(6) Keeping the highways open in Alaska is a challenging position. You have extreme temperatures which damages the concrete etc. Snow removal is never ending problem in Alaska.
(7) The Ferry system. That's right Alaska has the second biggest ferry system in the United States. They have increased the sailings to Sitka from Juneau.
(8) Unions. Here in California, Gov. Schwarnegger has found out his bigesst challenge in reducing cost has been his fight with unions. For example to layoff workers, you must first get approval from the union, the department that is affected, the State Personnel Board, then special a oversight department -which I forget.
(9) Regulatory agencies. Well all I can say, is that 80 percent of the people in Alaska approve of the job she is doing.
(10) Yes, being a Mayor is a big deal. If you care to dismissed it, well that is perogative.
Now what is Obama's claim to fame?
-- Modified on 10/2/2008 11:37:28 PM
Not sure how Cali feels about the Terminator... I actually humorously think Obama's claim to fame is the way he has run his campaign aside from Law Review President, Community Organzer in early 20's, writting two books, 13 years as constitutional law professor while being apart of city senate and consulting as well as being apart of law firms, or state senate (he also started some 501(c)3's... When it was all started I didn't think Obama would get past Hillary and definitely not even have a chance against Mccain...
I guess the other thing that stands out in my mind is the fact that Obama/Biden can do what Mccain/Palin can, but I hope nobody is betting on Mccain/Palin to do what Obama/Biden have done... Mccain/Palin can't be constitutional law professors at Uof Chicago nor have they Mastered any body of knowledge to be amongst the best of the best on many if any intellectual levels...
Look we have all seen where stupidity will get us with Bush (I really don't care if the person is a cool person to sit down and have a beer with; can he lead, can he succeed and does he/she have the track record of success)...

community organizer, and constitutional law professor to me spells one thing = lack of common sense. Sorry, but I have dealt with too many public officials with law degrees that have all have one common flaw; the inability to make a decision.
As a community organizer Obama has failed to deal with perhaps the biggest issues in inner cities and they are: drugs and predatory lending practices. The latter will become much worse under this new bailout which Obama voted for. Please see attached link.
What has Obama done to make schools better or reduce crime? He talks about hope but hope begins with dealing the everyday issues of life such as running a school (I respect the job of teacher), keeping the streets safe, keeping drugs out, keeping jobs, maintaining parks. These are the issues that matter to quality of life.
The two books that Obama wrote about were about himself. As a lawyer, I would like to know what are the major cases he has tried. In the Illnois State Senate Obama mainly voted present. A leader has to show he has lead, and both Obama and Biden fail on this count.
I do not think Obama has ever in his life tried a real case in a court of law

Cleaning up Chicago's streets if accomplished would be far more impressive than any Governor position, Senator position, etc. because of the level of difficulty... Besides that is for the Chief of Police and Attorney General, which has proven a damn near impossible task... I personally don't think community organizer should be mocked too much simply because it was right after he graduated from College in his early 20's around 25 and to take an organization from 70k to 400k is an accomplishment... Neither black nor white man should be going out into Chicago's streets trying to clean up drugs, crime, etc. when GD's, Hoover Deuces, P-stones, etc. are running the streets (gauranteed death sentence)... The best you can do is set up job training programs, college prep tutoring programs, which he did make available for those interested and I'm sure it made a hell of a difference in some peoples lives (thats fighting for the people nobody else cares about (i.e.-middle/lower class) at its finest...
But I will tell you seeing a black man accomplishing things in other arena's besides football and basketball ones is uplifting and gives black youth hope (so that in and of itself will help make change in youth's thought process; the same way Palins accomplishments will change a lot of young womans views about what they can accomplish)... Not at all suggesting that african americans aren't accomplished elsewhere, but the youth don't exactly get a chance to see that often so naturally they go for whats either of least resistance or that is directly in front of them without proper guidance especially...
Lets be honest with the suedo/undercover racism (another side note about racism yes blacks are racist, but lets be honest for totally different reasons than caucasian men/woman; blacks might hate because of past bitterness of history stuff that might have happened to them family brother sister mother; white people will be racist generally completely unreasonable reasons because they don't like blacks culture, white family history or whatever; neither black's nor white's reasons for racism are acceptable in my mind, but which ones might be more understandable) its damn near impossible to prove injustice nothings blatent anymore so I am assuming Obama believed he can make the most difference in the most peoples lives ideally by breaking barriers not in the court house trying cases rather in the White House... Every law firm wants the best and the brightest and the ones that are apart of the Law Review (Responsibilities: President of Law Review is to voluntarily manage the 80 other editorial writers) are generally the best and the brightest if that is arm candy for law firms so be it (its better than being picked as a Rhode Scholar many might argue)...

Bill Clinton has been a two term President so it does not matter if he tried a case
Remember he was Attorney General of Arkasas and Governor so yep he was far from a community organizer

Everyone should vote for O'Bomb to prove, "I AM NOT A RACIST".
It is brain dead argument propagated by RACISTS!, who cannot carry on an intelligent conversation.
it's laughable.
Cumfort takes the time to outline why she thinks Obama represents her interests better than McCain does and all you can do is squall, "Racist" from your (presumed of course) position of privilege as a white male with a little money.
You are simply an ignorant, racist jackass.
Regarding the racism stuff I was just making a side note about why blacks and whites are typically racist (that is something I just thought people should understand; atleast from my point of view; understand neither are right)... Race has nothing to do with why you should vote for Obama or for Mccain... Nobody should feel guilty enough to vote for someone because of race and if you do feel guilty enough I'd beware because you must have done some terrible shit recently and I definitely wouldn't give the race I've wronged power...
Put it this way in every nation there is some group opressed (doesn't make it right), but its damn near a natural law... If blacks a long time back had the opportunity we probably would have enslaved white people for the construction of our country... Africa's had plenty of slavery... Hell we sold our own people to the europeans so our morals are no less or more than those that purchased...
No bullshit. Answer please.
All of sudden O'Bomb warned of the housing collapse two years ago.
Thought it was Hillary who said it.
Shameless thief.
I'm assuming when you request accomplishments your asking about his policy/legislation accomplishments because otherwise it should be overly apparent about his other accomplishments...
-Beating Hillary along with the other Democrats running for office as the youngest Presidential Candidate...
-Running an amazing campaign that has raised an amazing amount of money...
-Show calmness in the midst of crisis... While Mccain was the damn excorsist saying 10 different things in 1 minute, lol (thats funny)... Hannity/Dick Morris are both fucksticks I was really believing for a second that Mccain's grand political scheme was amazing because of the way Morris was making it sound (its genius!!, stupindous!!, game/set/match!!; turns out not even close, but he's a great salesman)...
-Becoming a US Senator is an accomplishment and you know what is even more of an accomplishment only being in that position for a few years deciding to run for President and actually having a real shot at winning (that has to be considered as skillful; black votes aren't that powereful so gaining white votes he's been surprisingly successful at)... I personally feel that it is only this year that he would actually have a chance the stars have aligned so to speak... If the Rep leadership had handled the war well, economy well, or anything else well he probably wouldn't have a chance in hell... Aside from the fact that he's extremely ambitious he probably got tired of looking at Bush run the nation (seeing him run the nation will give damn near anybody confidence that they can do it better)...
Another thing that I find humorous most of the people that voted for Bush TWICE, not once TWICE are probably the same people voting for Mccain (when that blounder was made why don't you question your decision making ability specifically regarding electing a President (That would probably make me not want to vote because I wouldn't feel to confident about my candidate selection criteria; should just through up your hands and say I don't know what to do with my voting responsibilities) its also time for a change in that regard)...
-During his time in Senate:: Obama introduced two initiatives bearing his name: Lugar–Obama, which expanded the Nunn–Lugar cooperative threat reduction concept to conventional weapons,[60] and the Coburn–Obama Transparency Act, which authorized the establishment of USAspending.gov, a web search engine on federal spending.[61] On June 3, 2008, Senator Obama, along with Senators Thomas R. Carper, Tom Coburn, and John McCain, introduced follow-up legislation: Strengthening Transparency and Accountability in Federal Spending Act of 2008.[62]
-In December 2006, President Bush signed into law the Democratic Republic of the Congo Relief, Security, and Democracy Promotion Act, marking the first federal legislation to be enacted with Obama as its primary sponsor.[64] In January 2007, Obama and Senator Feingold introduced a corporate jet provision to the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act, which was signed into law in September 2007.[65] He introduced Deceptive Practices and Voter Intimidation Prevention Act, a bill to criminalize deceptive practices in federal elections...
Good points. So now the choice is between the least incompetent of 2 sets of political hacks?
-- Modified on 10/3/2008 6:37:04 AM
It's always been a choice between the "least incompetent of 2 sets of political hacks". No one else will run for the job.
