Thoughts on the Houthis?

They are now routinely firing at vessels that pass near their strongholds and as far as I am aware, the U.S. and allies are acting in a defensive posture only i.e. just shooting down their rockets and drones. Arent we going to have to fly some sorties eventually and attack their ground based operations like their rocket launchers and drone bases?
The downside of doing it would be that this war widens, which of course needs to be considered, but isnt there a downside to not acting? Might it give them, Hezbollah and other Islamic fundamentalist proxies of Iran a tacit approval for continuing or ramping up these attacks? Tough questions indeed.

But it would be a mistake to get into a war with them. The Saudis fought them for years but failed. We wouldn't but it's just not worth it. All we need to do is keep them from fucking with shipping.

If the US continues to allow the Houthis to harass and interdict international shipping, then Biden will be criticized as too tepid.

If we ramp up our response to including attacking Houthi launch sites and naval vessels, we risk getting drawn into a war with Iran.

I agree with Nicky that more needs to be done, but the Pentagon really needs to thread the needle in regards to a proportional response.

........If we took out some rocket batteries and drone installations. They wouldn't dare. What I am referencing is an air campaign only. No boots certainly. Cruise missiles, drones and a few stealth bomber sorties to give them a disincentive to keep doing what they are doing. I think it's time. It is tricky though as I will conceded that.

"51% of Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 said they believed the long-term answer to the Israel-Palestinian conflict was for “Israel to be ended and given to Hamas and the Palestinians.”
.
The poor aging liberals posting here at TER are being out radicalized by their younger replacements. 18 to 24 year olds skew liberal.  That they just want to complete what the NAZI's started is not that surprising for liberals who always have a target hate group.  It's just that liberal Jews are going to find out the true cost of the alliances they thought they had.
.
The trouble is, liberalism is a mental disorder.  Liberal Jews may never admit to themselves that it is a function of liberalism itself that is sending them once again to the gas chambers.

That's a great history lesson on the topic. I wish the world pressured Iran and Hamas at least half as much of how they pressure Israel. Even our own "liberal" media has been embarrassingly anti-Israel lately.

Agreed. Israel is held to a different, antisemitic standard.

Jews are NOT in favor of "open borders." Show me ONE THING that says they are.
Show us ONE TIME when Jews "invited millions of Mexicans here." They didn't. Not to mention that "millions of Mexicans" aren't even coming here. Most refugees are from Central America and Venezuela. And when did Jews also invite millions of Muslims? Didn't happen.

International shipping is starting to go around the cape of hood hope. Not a lot mind you but bookings through the suez are being canceled and at $500,000 a pop that will add up quick. I wonder if the Egyptian’s will want to get involved?

PS the US Navy up till this point, it’s pretty much been target practice for them to shoot down whatever has been fired by the Houthis. I surmise there are no shit Iranians on the ground there taking notes on what’s working and what isn’t and why…Modern US navy ships are not armored like they were in WWII. Most of them could not survive a direct hit from larger guided munitions like a cruise missile. Instead they are relying on a suite of defensive measures to keep the ship safe.

If one of our ships gets sunk while doing convoy duty it SHOULD BE gloves off destroy ever battery we can target from space.

But I got a feeling it might not be…

First of all this isn't the first time ships have bypassed the Suez Canal in recent years. They did it during Covid when fuel got really cheap. They did it again when a huge container ship got stuck there. And it's actually cheaper to ship around the Cape of Good Hope (NOT the "cape of hood hope").
Also, we shouldn't wait until "one of our ships gets sunk." We should hit the Houthis the next time they launch a missile. Why so passive?

Why so passive? Because this administration does not have the nutsack to prosecute a war. We’ve seen how scumbag Joe handles military operations (Afghanistan pull out) THEN flag draped coffins coming home by being annoyed, checking his watch, then telling everyone his son got killed in Iraq! Hell They are barely hanging on by their fingernails to continue supporting Israel. Their own White House interns are demanding cease fire 🙄 college campuses are roiling with support for Hamas. Yeah… this administration ain’t going to war.

So the US Navy will shoulder the burden and risk,  Hamstrung by Joe Joe the potato.

We all understand you can't play this game very well. But do you have to make it so obvious?

Let me clue you in on something that your therapist should be explaining to you every session, most of the world doesn’t see life like you do….

Oh and PS, love how a peacenik draft dodger wants to beat the drums of war! That’s hilarious 😆  these sailors out there doing convoy duty? If they get it wrong? They die horrific deaths. Love  how your so willing to commit them to combat…

You had to fall back on your usual repetitive lines. How weak can you get?
And then you just had to play on your fake military reputation. Must you keep lying about that?
Apparently.
